Iu2019ve been coming here for 6 years and Dr. Brown is cooler than a polar bears toe nails. Of course some of the reviews talk about customer service skills but thatu2019s not a reflection of the care and concern Dr. Brown shows his patients. Also the lady who has drawn blood from me the last 2 times is bomb too. Every time Iu2019ve been there everyone was happy and that makes me happy as a patient. Dr. Brown has removed a cyst from my ovary and it looks like Iu2019m going to have to have another on removed but I trust him and feel safe within his care. If you need a obgyn that cares then come here! I donu2019t leave reviews that often but I felt compelled to talk about this practice for a few. God Bless this facility and all the staff!!~Joyce Smith

I have to honestly say I think he has finally gotten the staff and the process down to a science. I have been a patient for some time but honestly stopped coming because of the service from the other staff that I had received in the past. I generally don't have to come too often because I was done having my babies when I moved to Georgia back in 2011 but wanted a Dr. close to home to deal with several other female issues. I lived in Smyrna during that time. Fast forwarding to 2020... it has been a few years but this week my appt was scheduled at 3, I came in was greeted very professionally, the staff handed me paperwork asked me to fill it out and come back to see them when done. I filled it out brought it back, she handed me two other sheets and asked that I fill out those because the staff in the back would need those prior to seeing me. She also made it a point to remind me that she still had my license and insurance card. I filled them out took the paperwork back up to her and within minutes I was being called to the back. Once back there my weight was taken and I was immediately put into a room after submitting my sample in the clean restroom. Nice music was paying as well. :) The Nurse Practitioner was very thorough, friendly and answered all of my questions. She explained what I needed to do next and assured me all would be followed up with. This was the BEST experience I have had. Thank you and job well done ladies and Dr. Brown for hiring them. You have come a long way as I was impressed with the changes and professionalism that was displayed. (I generally do not post or do reviews but I felt as though this was well deserved!)

The Dr. is incredibly friendly! that's the only possible good thing I can say. Dr Brown and Shawanda are very nice people and seem to be good doctors. However, the staff are both crude and rude, incredibly callous, and severely incompetent, their organization system is a mess, and their service is atrocious. I have no idea how they have ever managed to get to the hospital in time to deliver a child, as trying to get them on the phone is more difficult than getting a direct line to the president at the white house. I've had to take my wife to Emery twice now for simple things because their on call people refuse to give us any answers whatsoever send us there, even when it's a simple though immediate question. My wife needs a new prescription for anti-nausea medication and the staff wont even let us talk to the doctor to request one, they just say wait for your next appointment or go to emery. It's hard to wait for anti-nausea meds when my wife hits the point that she can't even hold down water. At Emery the hospital tries to call and it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get anyone, then they don't have any medical records to provide to the hospital... So either they have lost my wife's medical records or they are to lazy to provide them to the hospital... or they simply haven't maintained any records in the first place. To top that, my wife gets back to Dr Brown or Shawanda and they have no idea that my wife was ever in the hospital at all. They run a lab test on my wife and tell her that they will call us within four days, and they never call... My wife calls them and they either don't know about any test, haven't gotten the results back after more than a week, or won't give us the results and we will have to see our OB at the next appointment... Can I just talk to shawanda? No. you can come to your next appointment. It's finally bad enough for us to look for a new OB, My wife finds one, they send the request for her medical records and they get back a blank page from Gyn-care. They press for the records and Gyn-care has informed them that they are not required to provide records for 30 days under GA Law... So my 6+months pregnant wife no longer has an OB. I'm now looking for a malpractice attorney, and I'll bet good money that neither Dr Brown or Shawanda now what's going on.

Dr. Brown delivered my son, however my care for the majority of my pregnancy was given by Mrs. Shawanda. I love her. She had great bedside manners, and the quality of care was always great. I just wish she delivered babies, because Dr. Brown is chronically late, and seemingly detached. He disappeared during my labor and the Emory nurse was livid. Then he just popped back in without a mention of it. While I was in labor he was giving a medical student a quiz. It was weird like in a condescending tone. He seems like he would rather teach than to practice. The worst offense of all is when he performed my tubal ligation. The procedure was done at Emory hospital. I woke up with a blood soaked bandage, and was sent home like that (see picture top left side). When I got home and removed the bloody bandage I was just open--no stitches or glue, and tissue exposed (see picture top right side). My incision did become infected, and then no doctor would close it up in fear of trapping the infection in, so it healed horribly with a keilod (see picture bottom). Needless to say I would never go to this practice again. My current OB/GYN was mortified at the pictures from after the tubal ligation performed by Dr. Brown. She even ask me for permission to share my pictures with medical students on what not to do!

Iu2019ve been a patient only about 2/3 weeks and my experience has been great. Shawanda has a great personality, sheu2019s gentle, informative, and quite helpful. The receptionists are very welcoming when anyone enters the building. Im pregnant with my first child and feel I chose the right clinic.
