I had to take my husband to the emergency room. I have to say the care was excellent. Everyone from the receptionist to the nursing staff and Doctor were all very attentive and professional. I have been a RN for 42 years and was visiting the area from out of state when my husband became ill, from my experience in the medical industry the care was superior.

After taking a long time to get started, emergency room service was really good. The docs seemed to be very knowledgeable and professional. Even the trainees from Campbell U were. However, communications from some departments is sorely lacking. I cannot seem to get the folks in the sleep study section to return a call or respond to a request. It's like being ghosted by an ex.

I drove someone to the emergency room. She's from out of state she has insurance. There was one gentleman who has been waiting for 4.5 hours. If you go to an emergency room. You would think that you would be seen sooner than that. This is what you call a flagship hospital? How many times are they going to take her blood pressure and send her back to the WAITING AND WAITING AND WAITING ROOM? You could prepare a Thanksgiving dinner, eat it, throw up half the casserole, and drive home, by the time you are seen! I'm sure the 5 star ratings are from the employees themselves. The service is laughable! Thank God she hasn't been shot, stroke, heart attack!

My girlfriend was transported by EMS to the emergency department on the evening of February 6, 2025. Upon arrival at the ED, whomever the overly obese female employee with Carteret Health, that was communicating with EMS was extremely rude. She stated u201c I donu2019t like vomitu201d. Well why is she working in a hospital.. Then Dr. Alba released her from the ED, when she should have been admitted. Stay away from this place! Go to another medical facility! My girlfriend's family doctor said she should have been admitted, but once again, Carteret Health doing what they do best, which is nothing. If they had done a good job, I would have rated it a Five Star. There is a reason this place is rated at a 2.9. Pathetic. No worries, went to Carolina East to receive real medical care.

I brought my mom (75yrs old) in due to her recent diagnoses of the flu, and it had gotten worse. We arrived around 1:45pm. She was triaged, and sent to a room. Blood work and chest X-ray were completed by 3:57pm. (her results were listed on her patient portal) She did get one breathing treatment, and no doctor had come in her room and it was 7:30pm. No provider ever came in to check on my mom. So by 7:47pm my mom had laid in the bed long enough, with all her test results completed so we ended up just leaving. This was a visit that should have been in, diagnosed, seen by a provider, gone over results, and discharged. I do understand there can be other patients with more urgent circumstances, but this was unacceptable treatment.
