If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. My recent experience at St. Claire Hospital in Morehead, KY was deeply upsetting and frankly unacceptableu2014particularly in the Emergency Room. From the moment I arrived, the ER staff, including the doctor, PA, and nurses, were shockingly cold and dismissive. I was told to undress without being offered a gown or even a sheet for privacy. My husband had to step in and ask for one, and when he did, the nurse threw a folded gown at meu2014as if I were an inconvenience rather than a patient in need of care. Meanwhile, Radiology was already pushing my bed down the hallway.nnLet me be clear: Radiology was the only bright spot in this experience. The techs there were kind, gentle, and professionalu2014everything the ER staff was not.nnIu2019ve never witnessed a hospital operate with such a blatant disregard for patient dignity and compassion. It was chaotic, impersonal, and left me feeling dehumanized. I am truly concerned for anyone who has to rely on this ER for urgent care. This is not how healthcare should be delivered.

Iu2019m not sure if this is the right place to write this review and I truly hope it reaches the L&D staff that helped me.nnI went in for a BPP & NST on 3/11 due to post dates & baby looked great. I was offered to come back for an induction if I wanted to. My husband and I talked it over and since I was going to risk out for my home birth (again, due to post dates), we decided based on many factors just to be induced. I was very depressed about this decision as my 3rd baby was a very successful home water birth.nnAnyways, I got to L&D on the night of 3/13 (I was 41+4) and Ginger, who I believe was an OB, allowed me to make the decision of what I wanted to be induced with - cytotec or pitocin. She explained that pit could be controlled so I opted for pit. I was allowed to control how much pit went up or down which helped me feel more comfortable, even though I was reluctant about this induction.nnThe next day, shift change happened and my nurse, Abby, and midwife, Melanie, were with me the whole day. They discussed every thought they had, allowed me to make informed decisions, discuss them with my husband etc. I was able to discuss what I wanted and didnu2019t want when I actually pushed my baby out - no coached pushing, no purple pushing, donu2019t wipe off baby or take him from me, etc. Ultimately, I felt in total control of my birth, despite being in a hospital.nnWhen transition hit (this all came from my husband as I mentally was on another planet due to not having an epidural or any pain medication), Melanie checked in on me several times and was quick to notice when I was pushing, even though I wasnu2019t intentionally trying to. She knew when she needed to be there and be ready as my baby was being born. My husband said he was very impressed. Melanie let me birth my baby on hands & knees, respected my want for immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping. When I felt the need for my placenta to come out, Melanie was right there, ready and waiting. Iu2019m unsure of the night nurses name, but she was extremely helpful in watching me and making sure I had what I needed and that I was ok.nnDue to staff letting me go without pain meds, laboring how I wanted to, showering/being in hot water when I wanted to, letting me listen to my body, and overall giving me my physiological birth experience, I did not tear. This was a huge fear of mine and I appreciate staff so much for allowing me to do what I wanted to do.nnHonestly, I wish ALL of moms who have to or need hospital births, are able to get the experience that I got when I was at L&D. Itu2019s such a vulnerable time for a mother and least interventions in a hospital is 100% the way to go, especially when you have staff that actually listens to you.nnI really hope Melanie and Abby see this review, as well as the student OB that was in the room that day. I hope I was able to show them all a physiological birth experience. I hope they all know how much I truly appreciate them for letting me do what I needed and wanted to do and actually listening to me throughout the entire process.nnThis experience was my 4th baby (biggest baby at 8.5lbs and longest labor at 25hrs!), and if I ever have another baby, I hope I can have Melanie as my midwife, Abby as my nurse, and have the same exact experience all over again.nnAlso- thank you to all the other nurses, techs, and everyone else that came into my room, for always asking my husband if he needed anything while we were there too. He felt very included and Iu2019m so happy he felt that way. The hospital even fed him each meal too! He didnu2019t have to leave once to bring us food, which I also appreciate.nnThank you ladies so much for everything you did for me, my husband and our baby!

We took my 91 year old mother to the emergency room. It was very cold, so I put my furry, fleece lind hoodie on her. She was transferred to a room, and my hoodie disappeared. It was not taken up with her and was not in lost & found. It had been stolen. It is a beautiful bright pink. And the warmest thing I owned. But some thieving low-life stole it. I really don't have the money to get a new one. So I really wish bad things to happen to the thief.
