I went in for a last minute tetanus shot as I cut myself on some rusty metal and was concerned as my last tetanus shot was about 8 years ago. I made the appointment immediately after the injury so it was very last minute but I still arrived within 5 minutes of the appointment time (no later) however the medical assistant still felt it was necessary to lecture me on the fact that my appointment was almost cancelled. When the doctor came in to see me he told me my cut u201cwasnu2019t that badu201d and didnu2019t seem to believe me when I told him it had drawn blood. They did not have Tdap vaccines on hand so I requested a Td vaccine as tetanus was my main concern, yet he still tried to get me out of the clinic and receive the Tdap vaccine on my own time, even after I had hauled me and my housemate downtown to receive the vaccine. There was essentially no regard for my anxieties or concern, and it took both me and my housemate arguing for the vaccine for them to finally administer it. If they had listened to my concerns and administered the vaccine when I requested it, I would have been out of the clinic by the time they closed at 8pm, but instead I left ten minutes later due to the back and forth. As a nursing major I know that this is not what patient centered care looks like and I will not be pursuing a career at providence any time soon.

I booked the in person appointment online from home using the Providence Medical Application. Then Attended the Appointment was diagnosed and explained about the necessary treatment and then went to my pharmacy and then returned home all within a hour's time frame. This was the best urgent care experience Iu2019ve ever had. Easy to make an appointment and I made one same day.nnI saw a doctor immediately after check in (both getting and removing stitches). Which is good because there isnu2019t much of a waiting room.nnI had the most bummer situation coming in! Not only was the thumb on my dominant hand gashed, my apartment was flooding from ceiling (maintenance was handling while i went to urgent care)nnLuckily the urgent care portion was the most sane and efficient part of my night. Stitches probably took 20 mins. Doc was caring and communicated everything. The whole staff were very empathetic and kind.nnReturned to get my stitches out a week later. From the time I entered the building to leaving without stitches was probably 10 minutes maybe 15. Not to say it was rushed it was just that efficient. Heck yes.nnAlso if you have providence health insurance this place is perf and obviously in network.nnWould recommend!
