I have had unfortunately way too many surgeries over the last ten years. My back surgery was scheduled at Maryview and the reviews terrified me. I have never received better care at any other hospital. The surgeons, nurses and staff were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to ensure I received exceptional care. The surgical staff included Dr. Makenzie and Dr. Kerner, Lily, Mr. Green (others I canu2019t remember.) The first night Dan made sure I was comfortable and got my pain under control. Stormy a PT was instrumental in making sure I had what I needed and was prepared to come home. Jasmine Thompson was unbelievable and needs an award. Jasmine made sure i had a walker and needed equipment to make the transition home. It was not an easy task working with workers compensation to make this happen. Jessica Jones ensured I was ready to handle the transition home and made sure my medication was delivered prior to releasing me. I can not give them enough praise. They were exceptional in helping me through a very difficult surgery. I can not thank them and other staff that helped enough. Exceptional and caring

My 93-year-old father was receiving end-of-life care after a bad fall and the entire team was kind, caring, and compassionate. His nurses (including Jesse, Jimma, Latisha, Tee, & Tyra) and the patient advocate Jen were always on top of his care, even checking on us (family) when there to see if we needed anything. It's so unfortunate that a negative stigma is sometimes associated with Maryview because from our experience, that is completely unwarranted. If I ever need hospital care myself, I would gladly choose Maryview & highly recommend this hospital to anyone else.

This hospital is absolutely horrific and needs to be shut down... from the ER sticking me in the neck while she was on her CELL phone cursing on speaker phone, leaving me 5-6 hours without the medicine/ fluids the doctor had put in, meanwhile they called sepsis on me with having an active infection I was sent home with twice before and my now symptoms... meanwhile the doctor put in multiple medications that were scanned but never given because the nurses went from shutting my call bell off from the nurses station without coming into my room to finally coming in and unplugging my call bell. 5-6 hours went by and I had no help to the bathroom, absolutely miserable without my medicine or fluids which two of them were cardiac meds. Then the nurses got my bloodwork mixed up with another patient even my sepsis blood cultures. Meanwhile I came in for internal bleeding, not being able to hold anything down, a hgh fever, etc. I called my husband who then came in to me holding mt urine for hours to where i had to bend over and literally push to get any urine out, i was as pale as a ghost when i still am today when they decided to discharge me. Then when they finally bring medicine they try to push fentayl on me which i am totally against which they pushex upon me causing my vomitting to become twice as worse.. but they kept claiming it was my pain when i can guarentee it was the type of pain medication because my past dr gave me morphine and it didnt do that to me.. Then apparenrly me refusing it made me a drug addict. Also they failed to tell me about my results of my CT which turns out to be something critical with my arteries along with my hemmorhagic mass on my ovary that is full of blood, so the agreement wqs to transfer me to where they had gyno as well as other specialists needed which never happened.. hours went by and i figured something was correct so my husbanf went to go try and find a nurse which they never came...an ER tevh did who was absolutely amazing and got the dr who thought all labs and cultures were complete and meds given which NONE were done.. then doctors switched and a new dr comes in who was awesome until her nurse later handed me swabs and looks at my huzband and i and said you you may want to do these bc your recurrent infections in your kidneys may be caused by your husband running around on you, hence my husband is always with me which was VERY unproffesional. After that i didnt see a nurse for another few hours until i tot a text update i was going upstairs and i didnt know any of my updated results or anything. Then The hospitalist who was suppksed to come see me triex to put it on the morning dr until i asked about my results and she gave me an attiude for having to come upstairs which she didnt give complete results so at that point it had been 16 hours of knowing nothing. Then the nurses cinstantly neglected me on the floor the whole couple of days not telling my doctors what was going on, forgetting to put my bloodwork in and trying to use resuls from days prior hekce mu hemoglobin had to be monitored, left me in my feces, told the dr i was refusing tests when in reality i cant keep things down still so they discharged me today with internally bleeding still hence my hemoglobin levels, fever, pale, dizzy, high bp etc so here i am having to staet all over at another facility bc of this nightmare.

I see all of these negative posts, granted each wing and ER have their own personalities per hospital but let me say:Upon check in last week for my joint replacement surgery, I was met by several staff members on my way to the surgical wing. The security check in was professional and welcoming. The front desk check in clerk was exceptional and displayed an amazing sense of humor. As I was taken back to change for surgery and getting prepped, I had a series of nurses that came in, checked in, followed all protocols, and were compassionate. None of them missed the mark and did a fantastic job of comforting me. The anesthesiologist and nurse anesthesist were honest about the procedure and described every move they made, making me comfortable and felt cared for. It was easy to connect with the initial staff and surgical staff. The residents in my surgery room were the upmost caring and were there to learn under the best orthopedic surgeon Iu2019ve had to date. Iu2019m a week post op and feel 18 again! They are terrific at their craft. I was discharged early compared to most with this level of procedure. The whole staff, from A-Z was on their A game. This was very clean hospital and OR.God bless these PACU nurses. When I woke up in the most excruciating pain of my life, they were comforting, caring, helping me all they could and checking every vital sign while providing pain relief as fast they could. I cannot praise this PACU team any higher than what they dealt with, with me and my big baby self. I thought I was the man going into this and humbled real quick, but it was a necessary pain to feel good again.Lastly, the floor nurse that saw me through rehabilitation, got me off that gurney and walking again, what a class act! The only complaint was that we waited an hour for the occupational health team that never showed up but, I was able to perform all functions for a nurse that had the authority and cared enough to see me home to recover. In 36 years I have had close to this care but not this level of genuine care for a procedure and empathy. I am forever grateful, as is my family! Do not write this hospital off on just a few bad reviews with labs and tests, we know a lot of hospitals get swamped and have to make choices to review more critical needs. Thank God for our nurses and Docs! They are the miracle workers for us in need!
