The 2 nurses we had last night into today were lazy, to be honest all the nurses and staff were jawing in the commons all night. My pregnant fiance was in for a MRI due to us being transfered from the rocky mount hospital. Not sure what rounds protocol is here, I am assuming they have none because they didnt do any rounds on us. We had to call for pain meds thst were promised when we initially got there. They then said because we didnt need labs that they didnt think to check on us until the MRI. We didnt get an MRI for 4 or 5 hours. So you do not check on your patients for 4 or 5 hours???? That is wild to me we were there for a apendacitus scare. After 2 hours we called for someone for the meds and they essentially denied it saying we would get them before the MRI, then a hour later we called again saying we cant wait that long and the nurse was like oh you could of had them at anytime. What the hell do you mean? You are the one thst said we couldnt. She said sje was just confused as she thought we wanted them pre MRI, lady why would we be calling you about pain meds if we didnt want them now!? How are we suppose to predict the amount of pain in 3 hours when you actuully do the MRI. I would understand if these nurses were busy but they talked the whole night. We had 2 labs done 1 30 minutes before we left and 1 right before we left to cover their asses for not doing rounds for 8 hours. Pathetic. Go to lewis gale.

I was seen at this ER in February 2025 and again yesterday.nThis is, by far, the very best hospital ER I have been treated in in 50 years! They are thorough, caring, efficient as all get out.nPlease be patient about your wait times. It is well worth the wait. These doctors, nurses and other employees will take excellent care of you!nI drive all the way from Bristol, TN to use CARILION HEALTH facilities because they have been amazing!

Doctors were great. Care from nurses was great. Wait times are terrible. Many of the staff donu2019t appear to know how to work with a totally blind patient. My partner is currently waiting, and has been waiting, for nearly an hour for our nurse to come in and sit her up so she can eat her breakfast. This is absolutely disgusting. No excuse for it in an American hospital. Weu2019ve been here since a little after eight last night. Itu2019s now just about 9 AM. Theyu2019ve also not given her her call button. I am totally blind as well, and looked for it, and cannot find it to save my life.

Triage is key! I felt that my issue was addressed as quickly and efficiently as possible. It was obvious to me that the folks that absolutely needed the attention first, received it first. Iu2019m sorry for the folks that do not I understand it or may not be educated on how triage works. Personally, for a first tier hospital none of us should complained. Iu2019m extremely appreciative for the care that I received and that I am still getting at this time. Attentive, and professional in all the services. Thank you Carilion

The nursing staff at the facility is the absolute rudest people we have ever met. My mother was brought in with extreme pain from a condition. The dr came and spoke to us and ordered meds after 5 hours and the medication still hasnu2019t been administered and when the nurse staff was asked we were screamed and and then told we were mean to her and she walked off talking a mess very loudly. I have never ever seen such disgrace. Please please save your loved ones and run far away from this ER!!!!!
