My family has been coming to Straub for years. I came here as a kid, my mom came here when she was a kid, and now I'm bringing my grandma to Straub. Things are more or less the same, which is great from a consistency standpoint. You know exactly what your experience will be like whenever you visit.The two things to note is that parking has gotten Packed lately due to all the construction. It used to only take me a few minutes to find a stall. Today, it took me over 15 minutes. While I do get it, it's a bit of a hassle. I hope that the new renovation alleviates this.Other than that, the facilities are clean and the staff are nice. It eases my mind to know that they will take care of my grandma whenever we drop by.

My dream vacation came to a screeching halt when my wife rushed me to the ER because I couldnu2019t hardly walk or breathe. This hospital staff treated me like family and made a nightmare of a situation bearable. From the moment we walked in and the staff had me in a bed hooking me up to machines before my wife was finished signing paperwork I knew I was going to be ok somehow.The ER nurses were sweet and kind and efficient and the ER doctor knew exactly what was wrong within minutes (and was correct) he was kind and competent a rare mix in my experience but nothing but positive feedback for the ER team.I was admitted and had to spend a few days in the hospital for treatment and tests and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about every nurse and doctor who took care of me and quite literally saved my life. Kind compassionate caring and extremely good at what they do is what I can say for every single team member of this hospital and I thank you all sincerely for saving my life and making me feel at home. There is one sweet nurse in particular I want to recognize, her name is Bobbie. She was the sweetest and most caring gentle angel to my wife who was a wreck worried about me and took as good of care of her as she did me.. she laughed and joked and matched vibes and has nurse qualities that I dont think can be taught because you can tell the caring and the kindness and love is who she is as a person and not something she has to put on for a job.. thank you again straub hospital and especially thank you my new friend Bobbie.Mahalo u2764ufe0fu200dud83eude79

Worst ER experience ever. I needed a procedure done that should require at least an ounce of privacy. The ER doctors and nurses are very manipulative to make think an I&D procedure in a private area of your body is a normal practice to be conducted in a small area with curtains. Where you can hear everything the patient next to you is saying and they're speaking out loud on what the procedure process will be like so everyone can hear. I mean aint that in itself a violation of HIPAA laws? I've never in my life had a doctor or nurse tell me a private procedure like that was fitting to be done in an open setting like that. They also tried to make me feel bad, like I was some overly entitled patient because I wanted to be in a private room for my specific procedure. The doctors excuse was that the ER was under construction and all the private rooms were offline. The doctor literally told me this is something that we are not going to use an operation room for. When it was an operation room worthy procedure. I got up and walked out of ER despite the pain i was in. I will never recommend going to this ER if you were half dead because everyone in the room would know exactly everything going on if you died smh. Never going to Straub ER AGAIN until they fix their ridiculous patient area with more privacy.

I had a heart attack at midnight at home. Straub Emergency got me in at 12:15. My heart stopped at 12:30 and they operated immediately. Dr. Won, showed up partially in his pajama's being called in from home. I had two STENTS put in, and two hours later I was in recovery. 2 hours later in a private room. 2 DAYS later I was HOME.The service there was the best. The nurses and all the staff showed great care and answered all our questions. It does take a while for the day doctor to roll around, but once things get in motion at Straub they are quick to work on things.I really did appreciate the food service. It is separate directly from the hospital. You simply order what your want from the big menues over the room phone, with generous time limits, and if there is something you are not allowed to have or allergic to, they will not put it in your order!!! Food was hot, fairly tasty.

Straub does not have a walk-in clinic or urgent care at the main center so they'll direct you to Emergency which is confusing to get to and then you're sitting there in a hard plastic chair facing a wall in the open air with no bathroom access, and no one tells you how long the wait will be.
