Quick and helpful! - Our 1yr old son was not feeling well and our mgh pediatrics office didn't have anymore available appointments today. We were lucky to find this kids urgent care center open on Dec 31 st! They are super nice, helpful, efficient and the place is brand new! We will definitely come back when one of our kids is not feeling well!

Our family traveled to Massachusetts in the last week of summer and stayed in Newton for couple of days. My son was on the recovery from an episode of sinusitis during the travel. A fast onset of a skin rash was developed throughout his body during our stay.We were blessed to have KidsWell Pediatrics nearby and the walk-in appointment was made in minutes. We only spend about half an hour in the waiting room before we saw Dr. Oren. And Dr. Oren is the best and the most knowledgeable pediatrician we have met. He not only dismissed our immediate concerns, but also explained the potential cause of the skin rash to us, which is convincing and reassuring.I hope there is a sixth star in this review and rating system.

Our urgent care visit with Dr. Lin deserves five stars but what happened afterward leaves a lot to be desired. I brought my son to Kidswell on a Saturday morning for persistent fever and was seen by Dr. Lin. A couple of on-site tests were performed and the experience was top notch. A month later we received a $545 bill stating that we are liable for the full amount because the claim was denied by the insurance company and we didn't have a referral from my son's PCP. We made several phone calls to clarify the issues and turned out Kidswell incorrectly billed the visit as primary care visit instead of urgent care thus a referral is required. Despite the fact that BCBS told us that we are not liable for the bill when a waiver wasn't signed and the bill was incorrect, I still made every effort to reach out to the billing person at Kidswell, which appears to be a third party person named Linda that doesn't respond to emails and never picked up the phone even though her information is printed on the invoice. We just received a second bill saying it's now 30-day past due and I know in the back of my mind we will be harassed by a collection agency before we know it. Our insurance company is trying to resolve the issue with the manager from Kidswell but it's such a shame that a good provider could be tainted by a lousy, third party medical billing service. As much as I liked my experience with Dr. Lin, we are unlikely to go back due to the unnecessary heartburn the billing issues have caused and I can't recommend this provider until they understand a good patient experience is more than just a good visit.Follow-up review:Janet reached out to me to follow up on the billing issues months after it was resolved and it shows how much she cares about the practice and her patients. She also explained the concrete steps Kidswell had taken to make improvements on the billing and referral process. As my earlier review stated, our impression on Dr. Lin and the staff was very positive and I would definitely recommend Kidswell after knowing that they have addressed the previous issue we encountered.
