I have been a frequent visitor to this urgent care clinic as a lifetime Kaiser member dealing with chronic conditions. Over time their capability or willingness to address issues related to chronic illness have decreased significantly. While in an ideal world, chronic illnesses are managed solely by physicians who specialize in that area, chronic illnesses, unfortunately, tend to be unpredictable and flare at inconvenient times when specialists are not immediately available.nnIn these circumstances, urgent care clinics or emergency rooms should step in to bridge the gap and provide the care that is needed in a timely manner, until a longer term change in treatment plan can be addressed by the overseeing specialist.nnWhat has seemingly become an all too familiar pattern at this Kaiser facility is that physicians hear mention of a specialty or chronic disease and stop listening. Their instinct is to refer out to the appropriate specialist or encourage the patient to contact the overseeing physician and move onto the next patient, cleaning their hands of any responsibility to address the patientu2019s current concern.nnThis leaves a patient who deals with complex diseases in a situation that often feels frustrating or even hopeless, when it happens in a repeated pattern over time. Kaiser needs to be willing to provide care to both acute and chronic conditions in urgent care and ER clinics, or change the system to make specialists available on demand, because this Kaiser patient is tired of being passed over.

I was incredibly worried about my condition and completely freaking out when I decided to visit Kaiser. From the moment I met Dr. Julie McKay, her warm, calming demeanor immediately put me at ease. She truly went above and beyond to not only address my concerns but also ensure I fully understood everything about my condition. Dr. McKay took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly, leaving no stone unturned, and her empathy made all the difference.nnWhat made the experience even more remarkable was her incredible staff. From the front desk to the medical assistants, everyone was so welcoming and treated me with the utmost kindness and care. It was clear that this team genuinely cares about their patients, and their professionalism and compassion shined through in every interaction.nnI couldnu2019t ask for a better provider or team than Dr. McKay and her staff at Kaiser Permanente. They turned a stressful situation into one where I felt supported, cared for, and understood. Dr. McKay, thank you from the bottom of my heartu2014I feel so blessed to have you as my doctor.

Disappointing visit at Kaiser Garden Grove Urgent Care due to a nurse practitioner who displayed unprofessional and aggressive behavior. Rather than helping address my concerns, the provider raised his voice, offered no clear explanation, and left the room without delivering care. This was an alarming experience that does not reflect the standards of care Iu2019ve come to expect from Kaiser. Thankfully, another provider eventually stepped in, but the initial encounter left a lasting negative impression.

Took my mother for a lab draw. Receptionist Ricardo was so pleasant and kind. Phlebotomist Brenda was professional and fast, 1 poke with so little pain. Thank you, Kaiser staff, for your 5 star service. Grateful.

I just showed up in pain and signed in and they were able to see me right away. The doctor was very caring and thorough. He Actively listened &nanswered all my questions and made sure I understood what to do what to expect & what not to do. They even set up my follow up appointment with my primary physician. While I was waiting to get x-ray I was able to get the labs I was due for done. Everyone I saw today the Doctor the receptionist the x-ray tech the nurse the phlebotomist were all so kind and helpful. The medication I got really helped without negative side effects, so feeling better and confident and grateful.
