My husband went in for an outpatient procedure. From the moment we arrived, every staff member was pleasant and helpful. It was a Friday afternoon and I am sure everyone was ready to be home, but not a single person acted inconvenienced. My husband and I are truly appreciative of every staff member we came in contact with.

Just delivered Door Dash to nurses station for patient. Accidentally walked out wrong door and got locked out. A total Karen had security escort me out like a common criminal and she was a complete B about it, wanted to leave me out in the wet and cold. Don't come to this hospital, drive to Lafayette.

My experience with Abbeville General was honestly one of the worst Iu2019ve had in healthcare. The way the staff treated me was disturbing, and I just canu2019t shake how unprofessional it was. At the very least, I expected basic respect, but that was far from what I got.On June 30th, a negligent driver crashed into me, and I was taken to Abbeville General by ambulance. They refused to give me an MRI, saying I wasnu2019t showing enough symptoms at the time. (For context, Iu2019m now receiving treatment and physical therapy after proper imaging was done elsewhere.) While I tried to be understanding at the time, what happened next made it clear there were serious issues. A nurse told me to follow up for imaging with my primary care doctor at the Maurice Community Clinic, which I didnu2019t even realize was connected to Abbeville General.I mentioned how difficult it was to get in touch with the Maurice Community Clinic and expressed concern that I might never get that MRI because of how unresponsive they are. I wasn't angry, mind you, just disappointed that this was going to be a long process now to get treatment and knowledge of my injuries. And thatu2019s when things got weird. The nurse seemed to take it personally, as if I had insulted her directly. While I was still on a stretcher, in a neck brace, she started berating me in front of my family about missed appointments at Maurice Clinic. She even suggested to me that my neck pain might have something to those missed appointments, not the car accident I had just been in. Really?I tried to defend myself by showing her proof of all the times I had tried to reschedule and called Maurice Clinic with no response and showing her all of my unanswered portal messages, but looking back, I realize I shouldnu2019t have had to do that. It was completely inappropriate for her to attack me like that. I was just sharing my frustrations about a completely separate issue, and she went off on me. I have three witnesses who saw this, and it was truly unprofessional. On top of that, the connected Maurice Community Clinic never mentioned the physical therapy referrals they supposedly informed me about. Even when I kept going back to them for the same issues, they never brought PT up again or told me I had been approved, which meant I missed out on physical therapy that could have helped me recover from the previous accident, also caused by a negligent driver. Itu2019s clear that both facilitiesu2014since theyu2019re connectedu2014have serious issues with communication and professionalism. This isnu2019t just a one-time thing either; it seems like a systemic problem with both Abbeville General and Maurice Community Clinic. Iu2019ve had multiple problems with communicationu2014phone calls and portal messages going unanswered, misleading information about referrals, and even an instance of retaliatory behavior after I answered a survey honestly. After I submitted answers to a survey sent to me about Abbeville General about my experience, I received a dismissal letter dated the very same day, essentially kicking me out of all connected facilities. How petty and unprofessional is that? Though Iu2019m not suggesting it was intentional, itu2019s hard to overlook how my access to care remained open until just one day before my final scheduled routine appointment at Maurice Community Clinic. Thank goodness I had a new Dr. lined up closer to my location. This kind of behavior is not what anyone should expect from a healthcare provider. Their refusal to take responsibility for anything and the way they retaliated when I tried to address my concerns shows a major problem with how they treat their patients. Iu2019m not asking for disciplinary action, but I hope LDH takes a close look at this situation to make sure other patients donu2019t go through the same thing.I donu2019t expect any follow-up from the complaint officer because itu2019s clear this issue runs deeper than just one bad experience. Iu2019ve documented everything and sent it to the proper agencies. If youu2019re looking for professional, compassionate care, I would highly recommend considering other options.

If I could give this place a negative 5 stars, I would. This past weekend I fell at work and went in to the ER in so much pain and unable to walk. I knew my tailbone was broken and the staff at the hospital all treated me as if i were being dramatic or just there to try and get pain meds. They treated me so terrible, kept tossing me around like a rag doll and threatened to shove a catheter inside of me when I was unable to pee for them. After waiting for hours they finally put me through a CAT scan and sure enough, I have a broken tailbone exactly like i told them I did. They still treated me like trash even after getting back my scans. I will never go back to this hospital ever again and I wouldnt advise anyone else go there either.

I went in because my ear was hurting beyond I could handle. I went at about 9pm got in at triage. I barely could've walk because I had an ear infection that I didn't know I had. I left at 2am because they had me sitting in a chair and I hadn't seen a doctor or nurse the whole time. So I left and had to go to urgent care. The next day because I was nauseous and my head was pounding. I feel they were quick to take my information to charge me but never treated my illness.
