DECEPTIVE BILLING PRACTICES: We presented to the urgent care due to concerns that our son had strep throat . We asked when registering if the urgent care was separate from the hospital / ER and were told yes. The reason we asked was obviously for billing purposes, as we have an urgent care copay ($50) with our insurance. This copay typically covers point of care testing such as step, flu, etc. that are performed on site. While we were only interested in having a strep test performed, the physician asked if we minded if he ordered a Flu test as well. We said sure, with the assumption that all testing would be covered by the copay and were not told otherwise. The testing was all sent to the hospital lab which generated additional charges from the hospital billing department in the amount of $237. This can only be interpreted as deceptive billing practices , no transparency in the least. Recommend seeking care at a different urgent care if visiting Portsmouth Ohio.

Dr hudson was the 2nd provider we saw in 2 days, 2 different places also. He actually listened to me, and He figured out what was wrong with her! Her symptoms were so different. Im so thankful this place was our LAST stop and we found answers! The nurses were all amazing also! So thankful for urgent care facilities like this with extensive resources as needed! Now my daughter is on her way to feeling better as we are on vacation up here.

My daughter suffered a dog bite and went to the KDMC Portsmouth urgent care for treatment. They had her wait 2 hours to tell her they couldnu2019t treat it. They made her go to the SOMC ED and wait for hours for no reason. All the SOMC ED did was give her a tetanus shot and filled out her return to work form. She just needed a quick vaccine to return to work (thank you SOMC). A dog bite seems like a common thing the urgent care shouldu2019ve been able to treat, but they said they couldnu2019t but are still trying to say a service was provided. Dr. Martino provided no treatment so her employer, nor my insurance should be billed. Iu2019ve left 2 messages with patient relations. It went straight to voicemail this morning during business hours. Also sent an email. Please contact us and resolve this matter. Very disappointed with KDMC.
