I have received some excellent care from my provider at Allina. I have also been trying to resolve their billing error for 4 months to no avail. They charged me $408 for a 15 minute phone call with my PCP using a wholly inappropriate service code and have failed to rectify the issue through multiple rounds of review. It seems clear that their billing services are deliberately designed to stonewall patients with valid claims. I would go somewhere else for your medical care.

Allina keeps saying my daughters insurance isn't valid. We've contacted out insurance and they have verified THREE (3) times it is in fact valid! My wife, who is the policy holder, has gone round & round with Allina and NO ONE seems to care nor understand nor try to help figure this out! Most of the reps have been absolutely clueless, except 1 lady at Allina who finally understood and said their system that checks health insurance isn't recognizing our daughter information for some reason. And the best thing to do is for our insurance company to contact Allina. Now the insurance company rep is getting involved this week to discuss this with Allina Health to get it straight! Allina keeps saying she isnt covered and to deal with Medica about it. Why should we have to do that?? Everyone in our family has the same plan/group number, etc, and ALL work fine everywhere, EXCEPT for my daughters Allina stuff. That tells us its on Allina's side! And Allina refuses to make outbound calls to the insurance companies for insurance verification, even though it states on the back of the Medica card that providers can call to verify and submit claims! So now our daughter is racking up medical bills, most of which is preventive stuff & covered 100%, because of this insurance system that Allina uses. The stuff that isn't covered under the 100% coverage should be going towards the deductible too, but it cant, because the insurance company isn't receiving/ processing any of those other claims! At this point, I've advised our daughter (who is 20) to not pay any bills and that we'll be contacting our attorney if it doesn't get fixed in the next 30 days! We have also given a verbal to Allina, who is in network. Except for some address issues early on a few years ago, we've had no major issues until this year! Oh, and she's also now locked out of her Allina on-line account as of Sat, Feb 11th, 2023. Yet she had access before then! This is what happens when your so desperate to hire people, that you hire anyone who has a pulse. Either that, or someone within Allina has blocked our daughters info manually from being entered, which would explain why she also lost access to her Allina account after 2 previous years!

It has been very disappointing that you wait for a representative to help you schedule and they gather all your information and then they put you back into the phone queue and donu2019t tell you. Very frustrating and disappointing customer service.

Weu2019ve gone to Allina for almost 40 years. It has decayed to ridiculous incompetence. Got a large bill for an office visit. Usually didnu2019t get much or any charges before. Gave all requested insurance info at check in. Sent a note via a very hard to find email address. Allina said to send insurance information so they can submit it. What!?Huge hassle to use Allina now. The only good thing is once you deal with the corporate infrastructure incompetences you still have good people doing their jobs during the visit.

Issues with schedulers not communicating well with clinic staff and scheduling the incorrect types of MRI appointment three times. They have called me 8 times now for help resolving their coordination issues. Super frustrating.Update: I called the help desk number, and the operator said they are unable to help me and that I need to coordinate between the clinic and imaging center. When I asked if there was an office or clinic manager they could connect me with, they said they can't do that. Coordination between the clinic and imaging center that are both Allina owned, seems like an Allina Health back office issue for you to resolve.
