My wife and I were visiting Ocean City, Maryland when an unfortunate mishap occurred last eveningu2014she slipped on our bathroom floor. Although it was only a bit slippery, it ended up making her fall more severely than we anticipated. This morning, when she requested a check-up, I immediately googled the nearest hospital. This one came highly recommended, so we headed there without delay. From the moment we arrived, every interaction with the hospital staff was remarkable. They exhibited genuine care, professionalism, and compassion at every step. Their efficiency and warm demeanor turned an otherwise stressful situation into a comforting experience. I am deeply grateful for the exceptional service provided and wholeheartedly recommend this hospital to anyone in need of emergency care.nnThank you for your service

In reference to my visit to the ER on Saturday the 29th, I would like to thank Dr. Bishop and the staff at Atlantic General. The staff of nurses there were very professional and attentive to my situation ( A-fib ). , and addressed the problem immediately. Dr. Bishop explained my issue very intently and to the point so that I understood what was happening with me. I actually enjoyed my stay there that day as they all made my feel very relaxed and comfortable. Thank you all .

I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding the care I received at your facility on Friday, January 24, 2025. I arrived by ambulance at approximately 7:30 am following a knee replacement surgery at a different facility on January 21st. I was experiencing a severe spinal headache and was in excruciating pain, which made it difficult for me to communicate effectively.nWhile I understand the pressures of an emergency room setting, I feel that the care I received from the charge nurse, Jenn was neither safe, caring, nor professional.nI was given pain and nausea medication in the ambulance, leaving me drowsy. Nurse Jenn began asking me questions; however, due to my weak voice and the pain I was experiencing, I struggled to respond. Frustrated, she made a comment that I was u201ctalking like I was drunk.u201d I found this statement to be highly insulting and hurtful, especially given my vulnerable condition. I explained that I had undergone knee replacement surgery three days earlier and felt as though my head was u201cgoing to explode.u201d Nurse Jenn remarked that she could clearly see my situation. My friend who accompanied me to the hospital arrived at this time and was dismissed by Nurse Jenn when she offered a list of medications and dosages I was currently taking. Nurse Jenn stated that it was not important right now and that they needed to get me in a gown and my vitals taken. I felt that this information was in fact critical and should have been prioritized. When Nurse Jenn asked me to change into a gown, I explained that I was unable to get up due to my condition to which she responded u201cWell if you canu2019t do it, then I willu201d. She then removed my clothing and put me into a gown without providing reassurance or empathy.nDr. Carpenter later arrived and explained the steps that would be taken which would likely lead to a blood patch procedure. Throughout the day, Dr. Carpenter checked on me several times to see if my headache had dissipated and explain the next steps, which I appreciated. However, a significant oversight occurred when the anesthesiologist who performed the blood patch later learned that I was on Eliquis, a blood thinner. This critical piece of information had not been communicated to him prior to the procedure. He was visibly upset and emphasized the importance of knowing this beforehand, as it could have impacted the success of the procedure. Had Nurse Jenn accepted the written medication and dosages that my friend offered several times, this oversight might have been avoided entirely.nAfter the procedure, I was instructed to lie on my back for an hour to allow the blood to clot. Despite this, it wasnu2019t until more than two hours later, around 7:30 pm that my friend asked if I could go home. Nurse Jenn then prepared my discharge paperwork. Before I left, the anesthesiologist checked to ensure I understood what to do if my headache returned.nWhile my experience with Nurse Jenn was distressing, I want to acknowledge the compassionate care I received from Nurse Alyssa. She went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and address my needs throughout the day. Her professionalism stood in stark contrast to that of Nurse Jenn, and I am grateful for her kindness.nI am bringing this to your attention because I believe this incident reflects a lapse in the quality of care and communication within your Emergency Room. I kindly request a review of the events surrounding my visit, including the conduct of Nurse Jenn and the miscommunication regarding my medication.nYou may contact me at 814-312-2500 if you require additional information.nThank you for your attention to this matter.nSincerelynStephanie Beach
