We don't have coverage in our home state due to the location of my wife's employer and the plan they offer. Therefore we requested a cash price from banner, which we agreed and paid. Months later they claim we owe them more because we have insurance even though it is not good here. They admitted we had no coverage but charged us more! .Banner is one of the few health care providers that engages in this and it's time our law makers take note to ensure everyone, without coverage is treated the same. Imagine if car buyers with I surance, had to pay more than those without? You expect this behavior in California, not here. Call your law maker and ask for change!

making healthcare easier, so life can be better.... What a load of crap!!My experience with Banner Health in Tucson has been DEPLORABLE. No one from my case will meet me face to face to discuss the adverse, catastrophic results that occurred.Banners lack of action and business practices continue to do damage mentally ,driving me deeper into despair. When you investigate yourself, rarely do you find any thing wrong. The administration has lied to me, avoids communication, does not disclose their last name or provide contact information, argues and badgers me over the phone , in a tag team formation.Without telling me what is wrong, -only maintaining after 3 investigations--they can't fix it..After an incomplete assessment of my condition, the neurology staff coerced me into a surgery that caused permanent nerve damage.Resulting in a total destruction of any quality of life. Abandoned by Banner Health --I comtinue to struggle and suffer daily with the simple tasks. Brushing my teeth, feeding myself. Dressing and showering, even wiping my butt has become a challenge. I cannot pursue my career of four decades in construction. I've lost my business , my house, my self worth, my future, as well as all the options I'd built over a half century. Every thing I've done and accomplished -- WAS FOR NOTHINGI'm homeless now. I cannot provide for myself. MY muscles have atrophied, stealing my strength. Causing strain and damage to the remaining muscles required to compensate for body mechanics so out of whack...Pre surgery I was fully self supporting thru my own contributions . Could do anything and go anywhere... I wanted. It Paralyzed my right dominant arm and the thumb and index finger of my left hand.Every staff member I consulted Completely down played the chances of adverse results in the anterior cervical discectomy fusion procedure they insisted I needed. Told me my arm would be paralyzed if I didn't have the operation. I asked What about paralysis from surgery? Looked me in the eye -- It never happens!. I asked how many have you done, how many people are paralyzed? Countless -- None I was told.Only to find out months later, after the first grievance - it was an elective surgery. A very lucrative avenue to large profits for a non-profit government subsidized organization.Liars. Coerced into a decision to proceed with the procedure. Looking back- I felt like I was in a used car dealership. At the 2nd opinion appointment , a younger, more charismatic surgeon Told me We want good numbers, it's a slam dunk. You are young, in good shape... And he would be there, and not to worry. Neurosurgeon team changed up the morning of, and I never saw that Dr. again. The Dr. I did have wrote the systemic review for C5 palsy,( Published in PubMed) of which I am diagnosed. It's more like a symptom, down played and super vague. Leaving the hospital staff with lots of room to avoid responsibility and the inability to reveal the direct cause, as well as effective treatment. Why was I not informed that it's a common occurrence attached to this set of nerve roots, as they are the shortest. ? Up to 30% of patients experience this paralysis. Onset within a few days post surgery, usually subsiding rapidly on its own. My condition developed immediately upon coming to In the PACU. My research provided me with knowledge -the earlier the onset of this condition post- op, - the more severe the situation and less likely to recover fully. Just my luck. 130 visits to physical and occupational therapy. Four different case managers, three psychiatrists, 3 psychologists, other counseling, church prayer and meditation.6 years later here I sit with no explanations. Now broke, and broken . No offers of help or Hope from Banner Health. I don't see a way out of this.Where's the care? In Banner HealthCare???They consider my case closed, I don't.They ignore my messages, attempts to meet with compliance officer, CEO s that signed the letters that spout a weak attempt to absolve them of wrong doing.

I went for a Surgery where a Banner Physicans office failed to get prior authorization for the Doctor and the Hospital to complete my surgery. The Nurse Practioner did a peer ro peer with my insurance company, which was denied prior to surgery And she told the insurance company she would file needed paperwork. We ELL they took me for surgery and NEVER advised me it would not be covered. TO THE SUM OF $180,000 DOLLARS. And I have excellent insurance and payed all co pays in advance.

I have spent the better part of a year getting credited back from services that were later covered by insurance. The Central Billing Department is an absolute joke- every time I call there is no record of what was stated in previous calls. I have dozens of phone calls with no solution despite my insurance company sending in information with every one of my requests. I will never bring my loved ones back to a Banner facility if this is the rigmarole I will have to perform. Banner, you owe me thousands of dollars and hours of my life back.

After I tried to express concerns about an incident that occured on November 19 -21. I was admitted to the hospital on November 20 for severe dehydration. Before I was admitted banner on 12th street and McDowell left me in emergency waiting area for over 9 hours vomiting non stop. The blond headed lady working front check in table told the fire department to just leave me there which is against hospital policy. Finally a male nurse came out and asked how long has she been here? The blond headed said several hours. She then slammed her hand on table and said I guess I have no choice but to readmit her but she will regret this. What right do your healthcare workers have any ways to threaten patients that is verbal abuse. Once I got admitted it went from bad to worse. I happen to be a quadriplegic at the C7 level. None of the nurses came to turn me over every 2 hours and on top of this I already had a pressure injury. That is neglect on a patient. My overnight nurse gave me two pills that we're not gabaphenten I then megan to get very light headed and feared what was going on. She gave me such pills in hopes of moving in on me to abuse. My over night nurse tried to have security take me and dump me across the street because I was a mental health and she didn't want to take care of me. When security told her that was breaking the law and said no I wont do it. She then said I will hurt myself and trash the nurses station to get her out of here. When police told her there was no evidence she really had a melt down. The daytime shift was no better. They made inappropriate comments about my past that we're never true. I never laid a hand on a healthcare worker, never assaulted or killed anyone in my life. I was also called a demon possessed because of my mental health. That is not true. Some of my friends have been treated this way when they went to that banner place. Botten line what gives banner healthcare workers the right to start abusing the mental health population? At that banner facility there are many old fashion people working there but not everyone has such beliefs. Healthcare workers have to be neutral and not have favorites. Fact 1 in 5 in the population has mental illness. people with such issues face stigma in healthcare industry but this don't mean they should be refused care. I tried reaching out to corporate but get told to reach out to patient relations already tried. Yet such abuse keeps happening. I want something done about this.
