Went to see the cardiologist and the front desk lady was really nice, even went through the extra work of figuring out how to get me a work note because she hadnu2019t done it before. Had to get an EKG done and the nurse got it done in about 3 minutes flat. The cardiologist was extremely pleasant, he talked me through everything to make sure I understood what was truly going on and was very understanding for my questions. Overall a very great and welcoming place.

The doctor seems okay, but my goodness the Nutritionist. She reminds me of the woman Doris Grossman from the 90's TV cartoon the Critic. The entire time she kept telling me she'd been doing this Nutritionist gig way too long, and all I could think was, Yep Lady, you have.She kept telling me that you can't do low carb because you're depriving your body of carbohydrates which it needs, and she kept telling me horror story after horror story of people coming into her office on a low carb diet on death's doorstep but THEN she'd repeatedly tell me that I'm not getting any younger and that this disease only gets worse with age and that I'm obviously going to die of diabetes, or some diabetes related complication so I might as well eat what I want anyway.Although I get that she's 65 and obviously BEYOND ready for retirement, I think that her prediction that we'll all die a horrible death was in no way kind enough to make me even want to attempt to follow her advice. She proceeded to tell me that she had a nutritionist train her who was a Nazi and who would yell at people for eating a piece of cake. She then told me to go ahead and eat the cake, but just to remember to exchange it for the carbs I used, and oh, it doesn't matter because you will die a horrible diabetic death anyway. Excuse me, but how does any of your bedside manner make you any different from the person who trained you. Yes, you're not yelling at us for eating the cake, but essentially you're saying, well, I've seen you all die horrible deaths so go ahead and eat the cake anyway. Where does the ADA get these people anyway...the bottomless pit of Hell???She has all the heartwarming bedside manner of the HAL 9000 computer. Personally, if she's that burnt out she should quit. Also, I wish there were more Endocrinologists in this tiny town because based on that experience alone I'd like to fire the whole practice.
