My son was on the TCU unit after a car accident and everybody there was amazing. All the staff, from doctors, nurses, even the cleaning crew where kind, knowledgeable, and communicated every step of the way. The care he received was amazing and the aid in getting him to the next step of his journey made things easier than expected.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. This experience was terrible compared to any experience Iu2019ve had with other health systems like corewell health. Youu2019re definitely better off taking that 50 minute drive to Grand Rapids. My wife went to the ER and they bounced us to L&D who then bounced us back to the ER for us to spend 8 hours over night and early morning in their treatment room for them to not figure out whatu2019s wrong with my wife and not admit her. It was pretty much a waste of 8 hours and my wife still has the possibility of having a very serious illness. They told us we were being discharged and we still had to wait 2 hours for that.

Careful when you go in for your yearly check up! If you talk about anything or your Doctor says u201cI am refilling your Rxu201d you will be billed an ADDITIONAL office visit. Just had mine and billed an additional office visit of $163. This is such a racket! Gone are the days of open honest discussions about your health with provider. So disappointed and it is not like this is the easiest thing to u201cshop aroundu201d for better service.

One star for nursing staff only. My mom was in this hospital for 4 weeks recently and the ONLY good thing was most of her nurses were excellent. We finally had to transfer my mom to hospice where she passed away. I know she would still be here if she had been at a larger hospital with more experienced doctors. I would NEVER trust Dr. Pryor and would never let him near myself or a loved one again. He messed up her gall bladder removal so bad that she ended up dying from it. From a laparoscopic gall bladder removal! No excuse for that! At the very least that surgery needs to be reviewed. There were mistakes with post surgical procedures also and ZERO continuity of care. They kept passing her off to different doctors for her follow up care. Also communication was absolutely horrendous! My sister is a physician and said she wanted to be called before they took my mom into surgery. That was ignored. She had to call several times a day during this 4 weeks of hell and drive up from Indy on weekends to try to figure out what the heck was going on, and push for proper care. Also, my mom had mild dementia and they kept telling us she was of sound mind and could make her own decisions. She didn't understand a word the doctors were saying to her! Just an extremely brutal and heart wrenching experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone. I really feel terrible for people that end up in this hospital and don't have a physician in their family. My sister was an absolute Godsend. You shouldn't need a physician in your family to push for the proper care and communication though!

Excellent experiences here. Had 2 surgeries and my mom has been here for a good while. Wouldn't hesitate to come here for medical care in future, they even have a great cafeteria with very good food as well.
