I had a 5pm appointment (5/19/25). I got there 15 min. early. Another man checked in about 30 minutes later. I'd been there for an hour when I saw my nurse practitioner (Kari Lopez) and her assistant walk out, pick up some papers, and call that same man back to the examination room instead of me. The receptionist told me he noticed what happened and he'd look into it. I told him, Don't bother, I'm leaving and that I'm not paying for that appointment. I notified them the next day to cancel all future appointments. My time is worth just as much as anyone else's.

I've been looking for a doctor that will listen to me as a person and not just look at lab results and say 'well, your labs are normal, so everything must be in your head.' I finally found that doctor! If you want to be treated like a person and not like a lab result, this is the place for you. I finally feel better, like I'm listened to and taken seriously. Please don't go anywhere Dr. Sjostrand, you're just the best doctor I've found. I have heard that the rest of the team is wonderful as well and I can say that the nurses and admin staff are also fabulous. They are always smiling and accommodating, I'm not going anywhere else.

She is excellent at explaining care and is pleasant to converse with. Her approach is less strenuous and more enjoyable than other medical offices. She is straightforward with expectations and the available care options.

Core Medicine front office is run super inefficient. Mistakes are a common occurrence. When our primary Dr. King left to work elsewhere, Core Medicine lied and told us she was on a leave of absence. We needed a vital heart medication refilled but were told we would first have to meet with a new primary, get established and then it could be prescribed. Would not even consider an emergency supply to be called in to our pharmacy. They had our medical records to verify the medication but would not do that. They stood their ground. Would not give us an emergency supply. And as we were in AZ for a few more months we were unable to come into their offices as requested. I would never go back. I found our primary at her new location and she was livid they would not accommodate our request.

I like Kari Lopez very much. She seems interested in me as a person, but the clinic staff on the day I was there, seemed rather lackluster. Things moved very slowly and I spent a great deal of time waiting and waiting in a clinic that was not obviously busy. The staff, while I am sure is well trained, to me, did not seem poised and well versed in their assignments. For example, the person who was tasked with drawing my blood, chomped his gum, murmured about my poor veins, tried both arms, and in the end was unable to complete the blood draw and told me to come back when the phlebotomist was there.
