I got sick shortly after moving to middle-of-nowheresville. My visit with Dr. Van Houten was one of the best doctor's visits that I've had in a long time. His assistant let me know that I could come as a walk-in patient. I was seen promptly for an acute illness and given clear instructions for after-care. I received a follow-up call to check on my welfare. An additional follow-up call was made to make sure that the illness was truly gone and I was experiencing no additional symptoms. I highly recommend the Van Houten Family Practice.

Finally a doctor that treats you like a real person. This is the best place to go if you ever have to go to the doctor. There is no wait time, they are very good at explaining everything to you. Very friendly and very caring, even if your test results come back during the weekend you will still be notified. So far they have always been there when I need them.

I believe this to be a decent doctor with questionable billing/business practices. I just received notice of a pending lawsuit... for $500 owed. I have asked to be on an auto pay, but they claimed to not know how to do it. I have paid atleast $200 for any bills I knew about. I often asked to pay atleast something while in the office and was told to wait until insurance was contacted. State school teacher insurance to be clear. I requested that the office call or text to keep me updated on what I owe after insurance. This was not done. I am a hard working school teacher who took my kids to the dr. and now Iu2019m being sued? I would have gladly paid had they simply called or texted. They have my correct # and email! Iu2019m completely horrified by the lack of business sense. I may even counter sue if I must spend time off of work to deal with this. All I wanted was an emailed/texted invoice. Simple professional communication could go a long way. Kindness still matters in this world.

I highly recommend Dr. Van Houten and Joni! Dr. Van Houten has a great bed side manner, and listens carefully to what I have going on. I have had a few visits now for various issues and had nothing but positive results every time. Great people, great service!
