Dr. Vohra, this letter is to let you know that one of your staff members, Nicole Schaachnousky went above and beyond to help us last Tuesday. Last Tuesday, my husband and I had a car accident, and were taken to ORMC, the accident left my husband with, according to the hospital x rays a fractured, displaced spiral humerus. The day was particularly busy in the ER. Before we even knew Nicole, we watched her run back and forth, taking care of so many people, we were amazed and she was so calm and kind. When Nicole came into see my husband she made sure he was taken to x ray immediately. As I said the day was very busy so she was in and out. However, 12 hours later, when all was said and done, she and another doctor came into splint my husbands arm, she looked at it and said to the doctor, she didn't feel comfortable about it, that it didn't look good, his arm was contracting. The doctor didn't seem to mind splinting it, Nicole left and came back with another doctor, Dr. May, who agreed with her and advised strongly that my husband be sedated so they could splint his arm. Nicole tenaciously went back and forth checking on a room for his procedure to be done, when available, she made sure my husband got into that room, and then she ran all over to find staff to hook him up and a doctor to help out. She never lost her cool, she never lost her compassionate nature. We were so impressed with her, she was truly an angel. The splint was put on, and she stayed, past her time, to say good-bye. The following day, she called to check on my husband and helped us understand exactly what happened. Dr. Vohra, Nicole Schachnousky is an angel, she was knowledgeable, concerned, compassionate, kind, caring loving and honestly she did way more than she should have. I wanted to let you know that you have a wonderful PA working for you. You are blessed to have her, and we are blessed to have had her as our PA. Hopefully, she could train others to be more like her, it mean everything to us to have her stand up and say, no, this cannot be put in a splint without sedation. God Bless her.
