I have had multiple good experiences here and I am SO glad that I switched from CareNow. You wonu2019t see a doctor - typically a PA or NP, but they truly do a fantastic job. Every time I go, the office is clean, the medical personal are kind and warm and they CORRECTLY diagnose and are great at listening. If youu2019ve been unhappy at CareNow - make the switch. I had multiple incorrect diagnoses there. I am so glad someone recommended Gateway Urgent Care to me about a year ago, I will not go anywhere else!

This was my first time trying Gateway. It was the fastest, most efficient urgent care visit Iu2019ve experienced. My daughter had a piece of bark stuck in her eye and the physician assistant was super sweet and very open with our options. He was great with my daughter and was able to get the bark out easily! I would never have attempted it, and Iu2019m so thankful. The front desk employee was also courteous and efficient. And the facility itself was new and clean, but not uncomfortable like so many medical offices can be.

I donu2019t often pick this urgent care, I have a regular spot much closer to my house that I try not to stray from, but at the time I needed care my usual spot was closed already and this was my next best option. Iu2019ve been here a couple times in the past and not had bad experiences, but I was left feeling quite anxious after my visit last night. I felt lucky to receive walk in care at the time I did, since it was almost 7 when I walked in, and I know thatu2019s pretty close to close, so I wasnu2019t expecting everyone to be chipper regardless. I could tell everyone was tired and doing their best, and I was just grateful to be cared for at all, but the care I received from Desiree left me feeling on guard and tense. I have a sinus infection right now, so Iu2019m already having trouble hearing instructions from the front desk and questions from the nurse, Desiree misheard my timeline of symptoms and responds back to me shortly, so I clarified what I said and she sighs. She says she wouldnu2019t recommend the steroid shot I came in there for, even though Iu2019ve been sick for a day off of the timeline sheu2019d mentioned (7-10 days) and I assured her that I understood but this is usually the route I take about once or twice a year and I have no issues explaining this at my usual location. I explain another symptom Iu2019m having that usually cues me in to see the clinic for a sinus infection and she cuts me off to say u201cyeah thatu2019s usually a symptom of a viral infectionu201d which. I already knew, u201cbut go on. Didnu2019t mean to cut you off. Go, gou201d At this point it felt like she was shaking, I could tell she was upset, and I was honestly stunned to silence for a few moments, I felt like my voice was caught in my throat. I ask if thereu2019s anything else she can give me, and she chuckles and says u201cI can give you cough syrup?u201d Which she had already asked me if I was taking and I said yes, so this felt genuinely like a slap in the face. I ended up asking for the shot anyway, which she very, very reluctantly agreed to. I understand this doesnu2019t sound like a horror story experience and it wasnu2019t my worst experience an urgent care ever, but as someone with social anxiety who has a hard time advocating for her health, this experience with Desiree in particular felt hostile and unsafe. She spoke to me like I was inconveniencing her, and made me feel genuinely stupid and small. I understand Iu2019m one of the last patients in here but I donu2019t think that should affect the patience I receive from a caregiver, I feel like I shouldu2019ve received the same patience, explanation, and understanding as your first patient of the day. Like, to be a doctor is to care for people who are feeling bad and need help, and I just left feeling worse. I understand you might think I donu2019t understand what a virus is or whatu2019s good for a sinus infection, but I have talked to many different caregivers over many years, this is not my first time, and I really didnu2019t appreciate being talked down to in the way that I was, I felt like a burden as you walked out the door. If you thought I was misinformed, you made no genuine effort to explain the actual science behind my sickness, just essentially told me I was wrong without any clarification. I was, however, very impressed with the injection that my nurse gave me as I literally didnu2019t feel it at all and thatu2019s never happened to me with a steroid shot, and I was really grateful for the older woman with pink hair who smiled and held the door for me on the way out, I needed that reassurance.

Thank you Gateway! Last night I walked into another urgent care in Murfreesboro. It was 30 minutes prior to closing and they had no patients. I was already in their system. I needed someone to look at a cat bite (my cat who got scared by a stray dog that came in our yard). The bite was 24 hours old and I had been treating it but around 5pm it was apparent it was infected and spreading. I did not want to go to the ER and also did not want to wait until morning to be seen by my PCP. The NP did not want to see any other patients for the night. I called Gateway and told them I could not get there until 10 minutes before they closed. They told me to come on! They were friendly and fast. I walked out with a tetanus shot and an antibiotic prescription. This morning it is remarkably better and I'm so thankful they saw me last night. My daughter has also been seen by Gateway. She needed a sports physical in the fall and our PCP could not get her in for several weeks. She went to Gateway and it was easy and she was able to get her forms turned in on time!

The staff were very friendly and efficient. I was in and out in no time, probably 30-45 from the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out. The provider was thorough with her exam and had my test results quickly. My prescription was received and ready by the time I drove to the pharmacy. I would highly recommend!
