If I could rate this no star, I would. This place is absolutely horrible at caring for their patients. First, Dr. Gutierrez was my grandmothers doctor who informed us that she was great at every check up even tho it was just looking at her and barely running any test, but later died of a heart attack a few days later from her appointment. Second, we continued to go for my grandfather because it was the only doctor he knew, after 4 visits with Dr. Gutierrez stating there was nothing wrong with him even though he still continued to faint to the point where he could no longer be by himself. Ended up going to the emergency room 4 times, and got transferred to San Antonio where he was informed that he is on the wrong medication that Dr. Gutierrez prescribed him, and following that every visit all he was asked by the doctor was u201care you feeling okayu201d. And my grandfather would inform him that he is still getting his dizzie spells, but Dr. Gutierrez just left it as is. My mother told them she no longer wanted her dad to be seen by them anymore and we continue to go back-and-forth to San Antonio. And now that he is feeling a lot better, and on the correct medication that was prescribed from another doctor in San Antonio, we wanted to get his surgery done for his cataracts. The doctor in San Antonio informed us they needed a referral from Dr. Gutierrez as Dr. Gutierrez was originally seeing my grandpa for high blood pressure & hernia , My mom had to make an appointment with them because he needed those exams and Dr. Gutierrez staff were clearly told from the office in San Antonio that they needed the referral. When my mom took my grandpa to his appointment, they explain to him that he was getting cataract surgery and needed some paperwork , dr. Gutierrez said he understood and that he would get them done. We emphasized how important it was to get those paperwork for the surgery. And we trusted Dr. Gutierrez word that she would get them done. When my mother went to go pick up the paperwork because none of the staff was answering their phones, they told her that it was a consent, not a referral, and that she shouldu2019ve known to ask for that because itu2019s a completely different thing, EVEN THOUGH DR. Gutierrez never stated that to us. And told us we had to schedule a completely different appointment and now my grandfather missed his cataract surgery in San Antonio. Itu2019s a shame that we have to go to San Antonio and we canu2019t rely on them when they are here locally. Never again, the staff never wants to apologize for the inconvenience they actually kicked my mother out and told her she had no reason to be upset.
