Today I had my first experience with a small town hospital for the first time in many years. I was not happy about having to go to the ER for severe abdomen pain . I have to say, the entire team from the wonderful front desk assistant , to the gentleman who took my insurance information and the wonderful RN Miss April down to the expertise of Dr. Lee and the radiology team. They took great care of me, sent me home within a few hours of testing to clear up an infection/ inflammation. They provided great service, and great care . Iu2019ve heard bad stories, but my experience was not one of them. I am very thankful for the team at Magruder Hospital.

My cousin took her 1 year old daughter here under suspicion that she possibly swallowed a button battery. This was the closest hospital and knowing how urgent this situation could be this is where she went first. Upon arriving there was no urgency for the situation at all, the NP working the ER actually told her oh itu2019s fine my daughter swallowed one before and she passed it. So if she did swallow it, youu2019ll just have to wait for it to pass. They preformed an X-Ray on her lower abdomen and had her wait over 30 minutes for the results. Nurse came in and said oh they didnu2019t send you home yet we will have to let you know the results later because we have other stuff going on. Not happy with that response, shortly after the Dr. came in and said there was no sign of her swallowing the button battery. While still feeling uneasy about the comments made and the situation overall, we ended up going to St. John Westshore in Westlake that has a pediatric ER, they are afffiliated with Rainbow Babies. They were astonished that someone would brush off the possibility of her swallowing a button battery. Within the first 10 minutes we were taken back, told how absolutely urgent and life threatening this situation could be, they did the X-Rays thoroughly from nose to groin area, and concluded that there was no button battery. THANKFULLY. They explained again how urgent this could have been and how every minute matters when dealing with a situation like this. They again were shocked by the fact that someone brushed off that she could have swallowed the button battery.nnIt is so scary to think if she would have actually swallowed the battery and then would have just been sent home, to wait it out for her to pass it, the outcome could have been devastating.nnI just think that it is extremely concerning for ANYONE that possibly may be concerned that their child swallowed a button battery to come here and be brushed off, and told the child just will pass the battery after some time when in reality it is a life threatening situation. I think the hospital staff needs seriously educated on how serious this situation could potentially be.

Me and my family were sick for going on six weeks and we could not get care almost anywhere that we went They were refusing us care because we had a viral infection! The viral infections caused bacterial infections and we were sooooooo sick. Finally, after driving an hour back to my hometown just to go to Magruder Hospital because I knew they would help us. They ALWAYS have! They prescribed us antibiotics and everything that we needed to get better! Highly recommend if you want to go somewhere that is going to help you then go to Magruder! They will find a way to help you. They even gave us a full meal because my blood pressure and sugar was low! 5 Stars best hospital.

My sister was admitted into the hospital following her visit to the emergency room. The care she continued to receive was amazing. The physician over seeing her care while admitted was Dr.Nosair. he was absolutely caring and helped to come up with a care plan for home after her few days of stay. I don't remember or know all the nurses names but, Lindsey and Chelsea who were great!! All the staff was so sweet caring and patient. They treated my sister like they cared about her and my mother who stayed with her. The cafeteria staff ( a gentleman) was so kind everyday and respectful and polite. The patient advocate amazing and the housekeeping employees. They were given a lunch Togo for both of them on there discharge and it was really sweet because, they do not have to do this or provide my mom with food also.they helped to transfer her care to the Cleveland clinic for her Cancer treatment going forward . I'm thankful for the services they provided and the care. Everyone was wonderful. Thank you so much!!!!
