First the good: Their birth center staff are amazing! Their NICU staff made a very stressful time so much better! I cannot say enough good things about every staff member I encountered. They were all so sweet and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. Just absolutely 6 stars, above and beyond!!nNow, you will pay for that wonderful experience by having to go through the nightmare that is their billing department/process. Itu2019s beyond terrible! On the complete flip side I have nothing good to say about any part of their billing system. The woman who actually works in the billing department at the hospital WILL NOT return any calls/messages. Even while I was in the hospital I could not get in touch with someone who was supposed to be in the same building. For that matter she didnu2019t return staff members calls trying to reach her for me. Now that Iu2019m no longer a patient I continue to receive calls from various numbers (call center type set up) AFTER I have given them the insurance information, they are still asking for the information. The last lady actually said they donu2019t have communications with the billing department but she was calling from u201caccounts receivable.u201d Please make it make sense. The call before that gave me three different numbers to get in touch with the billing department. All the numbers were u201cunallocatedu201d literally not even connected. If I didnu2019t know better I would think it was a scam.

We have to use this hospital for a lot of tests and most treatments in our rural area. The care received has been acceptable, sometimes even excellent. The big area of concern with Harris is the billing department. I have done meducal billing for 4 doctors. I understand codes and efficient billing. My husband and I have received incorrect billings in the last several years from Harris. This past Monday, we received a notice from a debt collection company for an amount that we had no idea that we owed! We NEVER received any billing for any remaining balance associated with his spinal MRI. He paid the required copay when he checked in, and we heard nor received anything further. Then, we get this collection notice five months later. Had we received a bill for this above the original amount paid, we would have paid it. We dispute the claim made by Harris Billing Department that we had been billed for the balance two or three times. I keep everything connected to our medical care and the corresponding billing. Our credit is very good. We do not appreciate any marks against that when we are not at fault. This billing department has an awful reputation for their repeated mistakes and failure to admit liability for them. If we had closer reliable medical care, we would always bypass Harris due to this most aggravating problem!

Just got my appendix removed here today. So far, nothing but awesome care and very fun, funny and understanding staff. Never had such great care before in a hospital other than when delivering my babies in Florida. Regardless, theyu2019re amazing and patient. I have autism and really bad anxiety and I donu2019t feel looked down on here.nnAlso, forgot to add, when I was in OR, I asked if anyone could pray with me and (God bless) I canu2019t remember the womanu2019s name but she grabbed my hand and prayed such a beautiful prayer with me u2014 truly a calming spirit. They did as they said and treated me like family in there. Amazing, amazing, amazing!

Iu2019m still so angry thinking about my experience so I decided to talk about it. This was in October 2024. Went to ER after slicing an artery and bleeding for some time around 5 AM. Once they put me in a room it was radio silence for almost 8 hours and Iu2019m not exaggerating. I gave in and called in a nurse about 3-4 hours in because I could feel my blood sugar getting low u2014 I hadnu2019t been given an IV, food, or even water. He brought back the smallest water bottle known to man and that was it. I was freezing in nothing but a gown and I was covered in blood thatu2019d dried so much it was coming off my skin in black flakes. (all I wouldu2019ve liked is some wipes, maybe?)nnDoctor came in to look at my wound around hour 6 and disappeared again. (He was very sweet, great guy) I got an IV finally at hour 7. (funnily enough, the doctor said theyu2019d need to stitch the artery, but Iu2019d waited so long that it vasoconstricted). Literally a 30 minute procedure, I had a tetanus shot close to hour 8, and left after a total of 8.5-9 hours. Came in at 5a, left around 1:30p. ER wasnu2019t even busy btw. Look, Iu2019m ok waiting in the ER as long as Iu2019m comfortable, but I wasnu2019t at all.nnI hated it so much that I didnu2019t come back to have my stitches removed u2014 I did it at home by myself. My only ER experience and it will be my last. If I ever get injured again, Iu2019m finding a Youtube video and handling it myself. God bless everyone in healthcare but my wellbeing was not respected one bit.

I went the Harris affiliated Urgent Care Care Center with what I believe to be a kidney stone. They were quick to X-ray and give me initial meds for anti-nausea and pain relief but also referred me to the hospital Emergency Department for more imaging (CAT scan). After IV fluids, I left there with prescriptions for an antibiotic, pain, and anti-nausea. Later that night I returned because the nausea and pain were not abated. On the second visit I got more fluids, IV antibiotics. All of the personnel I interacted with seems too notch to me. No complaints. There has been no followup call to see how Iu2019m fairing, but maybe thatu2019s just not done there. Since then I have tried three times to access the patient portal, to no avail. The site merely says u201cno filesu201d. Iu2019ve called the Medical Records department on two successive days to get records and to see if the specimen cultures indicate that I am on the correct antibiotic. The calls were answered by a recording but no one has called back.
