My child needed to spend six days in the ER waiting for a full-time hospital bed. We were unsure about the level of care based on reviews of Heywood Hospital. I can honestly say, we are lucky that this was the closest hospital and that he received care here. The communication between staff and parents was exceptional. The nurses and security were caring and friendly. He was provided everything he needed from blankets and pillows to gear for showering and self care as we didn't get to go home to get that before he was admitted. The meal Service was excellent, and the food always looked good. I feel that all the information pertinent to his health was carefully reviewed and documented by the doctors and nurses. Thank you Heywood for your high level of care

went in for an asthma attack- they took away my inhaler and took off the nebulizer the paramedics gave me and told me i didnu2019t need it and i didnu2019t have asthma. despite being in there the day before, the nebulizer helping, and them telling me i have asthma and should see a pulmonologist asap. i went 2.5 hours without anyone checking in on me despite i was wheezing and could barely breathe. they didnu2019t check in when my monitor was screaming saying my heart rate was 245 and passed out. 1 hour later when someone finally came they said they would get the doctor. i waited another 30 minutes and still no one came. i never got a hospital bracelet either. maybe thatu2019s why i wasnu2019t seen? they just forgot i was there? i ended up walking outu2026.i had a great experience with the day shift sunday morning. but unfortunately it seems night shift could not give any cares to their patients.

I wish I could rate a zero. After calling and asking for update on my son after he had called me and told me he was struggling to advocate for himself. I was told they could not talk to me even though my son had given them permission. I then called my son and asked him to bring his phone to his nurse . This is the person that also told my son he could just leave if he wasnu2019t happy with his treatment. I spoke respectfully with the nurse who then hung up on me as I tried to advocate for my sonu2019s treatment. Being out of state and unable to be there this was beyond stressful. I have never received such deplorable care. Yes, I will definitely be calling their patient care representative!

Had a horrible experience with the patient advocate while my dad was terminal with cancer last year. She essentially left me to figure everything out myself and it was a very traumatic experience.nThis year I had my own bad experience with the nursing staff on the floor as a patient. I asked for an update on my situation 3 times over 12 hours because i had no idea what was going on, for them to tell me they were going to find out from the doctor and let me know. This communication was by me ringing the call button and them talking to me through the speaker since they couldn't walk 10 feet from the nurses station to talk to me face to face. The next day I hear from the doctor that no nurse ever called him to ask for an update. Talk about blatant dishonesty.
