Great place if you canu2019t get an appointment with your primary care physician. Wait times are usually not too long, but can vary based on how busy they are that day. Professional staff. You have the option to wait in your car, but the waiting room is pleasant enough.

What you are is a wonderful urgent care facility. I cut my head which took 10 stitches and am from San Diego California. We arrived an hour before they closed. They got me in quickly, were very caring and nice. Dr Steele did a beautiful stitch repair on top of my head. I cannot thank Hilo urgent care enough so our vacation was not ruined.

Wait was very long (2 hours to be seen for stepping on a nail) which isn't necessarily an issue as it's triage, but after they roomed me they never once checked on me to update the wait time (I had to ask); it took over an hour to be seen after being roomed.nProvider was fine however they didn't properly place the order for my 2 prescriptions, I went to the pharmacy a few hours after the visit and they had nothing sent over. When I called to follow up about that to the urgent care the receptionist was dismissive and rude and claimed that nurses were just arriving even though it was 10 past their opening time. So She said she will have a nurse call me, when I didn't receive a call after a few hours I called back and said I hadn't heard back yet, she said there were no drugs ordered for me, I said the Provider literally told me to pick up two prescriptions from the pharmacy and that he will order it digitally. I let her know I am going to be in a new location and need to change the pickup pharmacy, she hung up on me as I was talking. I didn't get her name.nnUpdate: called back for the third time. The receptionist who picked up the phone this time was very nice and professional and helpful. Her name was Sherry. She was pleasant to speak with and helped me resolve the problem without further issue.

Staff was professional and compassionate all around. Likely understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. The American Health Care system is broken, so donu2019t blame the providers. Of course there is a wait! Of course patients are impatient! Itu2019s the same at every UC and ER in America. The alternative is to get an appointment with your PCP in six weeks. The folks at this place were great, and it exceeded my expectations.

Staff seemed nice and wait was only about 45 min. However, it was all a waste of time. I came in for a pretty simple issue and they turned me away because they didnu2019t have scanning equipment. They referred me to an ER which took me another 3 hours, and they didnu2019t need any scanning equipment. The ER was confused why the urgent care couldnu2019t have seen me. The ER simply did a manual exam and prescribed me some meds and sent me on my way. Donu2019t know why the urgent care couldnu2019t have done that.
