Today everyone did an exceptional job. The front desk is friendly. The nurse was nice. The doctor was friendly and efficient. Knowledgeable too. Iu2019m glad that this location corrected many things. I think I even got the same doctor. If so he did great!nnThank you Exer!nnExer has a long check in process for MediCal LA Care clients it seems. Some people got in faster! Not meu2026.nnOld review:nnToday my experience at Exer was so bad it was surreal.nnI was in considerable pain so it was hard for me to be assertive or offer an impeccable description of my needs and the doctor that came in was quite a rude character. Bear in mind there was no client ahead of me. Basically Dr Akhondi made me feel that he saw me as a dishonest person. He didn't understand why my primary doctor's office told me to go to an urgent care even though I explained why to him.nnHe actually wanted me to put my doctor on the phone. The Exer doctor was visibly upset. No patience whatsoever and forget about even a modicum of sympathy for someone in pain. The doctor was very condescending in his tone and demeanor. I'm not going into detail about what happened but suffice it to say this doctor jumped the gun and probably made assumptions about me that were absolutely unfounded judging by the way I was treated.nnI was in pain and I needed a doctor's note for work - simple. This guy probably thought I just wanted a get out of jail free card instead of thinking why would anyone do that in today's economy? Really, did this guy truly think I just didn't want to go to work? I mean, maybe if it was a Friday he could be the truant officer that saves the day for employers everywhere but this was a Wednesday! He didn't see the logic in the situation and since it did not compute he refused to give me a doctor's note!nnAs a side note there is a tendency for Exer doctor's to cross examine you. A close friend of mine went to the Silverlake Exer and had a similar rude awakening! Beware!nnThe nurse was nice but I can't give a star for his efforts to this horrid business.nnParking is awful. The lot is smaller than Massachusetts and it's kind of a bad spot because Melrose is a major street so be very extremely careful when you pull out.

I would not recommend going here. I went in a few days ago because I suspected that I had strep throat (I get them often). The front desk staff were very friendly, they did the usual screening and then swabbed my throat for a strep test. The doctor on staff (Quanjian Yan) told me it was negative and glibly told me I just needed u201crest and chicken soupu201d. I said I was pretty sure it was strep, is there any way the test could be wrong? No.nnSeveral days later, my symptoms havenu2019t improved so I went to another urgent care, they ran a culture and confirmed my strep infection.nnI understand that rapid strep tests can give false negatives but there was no diligence by this doctor to identify the problemu2026 my throat very much looked like strep! It was close to closing time and I fear that he just didnu2019t want to deal with it. Very disappointed and I wonu2019t be returning to any of these clinics. Waste of time and money.

It's always a pleasant experience going to Exer Urgent Care on Melrose Ave. The staff is friendly, cordial and professional. The environment is clean and inviting. The Doctors are knowledgeable to answer and address my questions and concerns.

What a gem!! It took me more time to find a place to lock up my bicycle than it did to fill out the intake paperwork, do vitals and be seen by a doctor. The facility is clean and all of the staff I interacted with were knowledgeable, efficient and generally pleasant people. This beats spending 17 hours in the ER at Cedars for the same exact result. If you have an ailment thatu2019s urgent care appropriate I highly recommend trying out this location.
