Terrible Experience u2013 Feels Like a Complete ScamnnI recently visited Jefferson Urgent Care at 2021 Chestnut St, and it was one of the worst healthcare experiences Iu2019ve ever had. My entire visit lasted about five minutes, during which multiple staff members cycled in and out of the exam room running a flurry of tests. I initially believed these tests were part of the standard posted service I requested, but they turned out to be costly add-ons far exceeding the advertised pricesu2014and no one bothered to explain that they werenu2019t included in the basic fee.nnAfterward, I was simply told all the tests were negative and advised to u201cgo home and drink water.u201d The situation only got worse when I received a bill totaling nearly three times the posted service cost. In hindsight, it seemed their primary goal was to rack up billable charges rather than provide genuine care. I feel more like a walking invoice than a patient needing medical attention and it pains me to send this bill to collections.nnUnsatisfied, I visited another urgent care (not Jefferson) for a second opinion, where the staff actually listened, explained each test, and offered a reasonable treatment plan at a far more acceptable price. In my opinion, Jefferson Urgent Care operates more like a scam than a healthcare provider. If you value thorough, compassionate, and cost-effective treatment, I strongly suggest avoiding this place.

There attentiveness, thoroughness, and professionalism of the technicians at the desk, the medical assistant who took vitals, and Dr Orion Pullman, MD, made my visit efficient and thorough. I had made an appointment, understanding that emergency walk ins could add wait times, but there was no delay in seeing the doctor.

I don't know where the doctor's went to school, but I've been there several times one time they sent me to the ER for x-rays and told me I have to get there on my own. I had another fee from the ER, and another Uber ride. It turned out that my neck needed to be fused. The doctor's at this urgent care don't like touching patients. I'm sure they I over billed my.imduramce company and did absolutely nothing.

My only complaint is my broken ankle! Arrived here morning of 5/10 following an inversion injury to my ankle after missing a step and falling at work. Staff was friendly and efficient. I was taken back immediately. Obviously wait times will vary depending on when you go and overall patient volume. Facility is pristine and well managed. I waited less than 5 min for a nurse for vitals and initial subjective history and less than another 5 for the Dr for physical exam. I was taken to x ray and given unfortunate news of a distal fibula avulsion fracture. Nurses were so kind and sympathetic to my situation as getting a splint and news that I need to be non weightbearing was not fun. All questions were answered and I was given discharge paperwork and a disc with my x ray on it to bring to my orthopedic follow up. Later in the day, my splint was feeling too tight as I was losing sensation in my toes. I called and they advised that I could loosen the ace wrap myself or come back in for a re wrap. I handled it myself but it was great to have the option to return. No complaints. Friendly staff. Prompt medical care. $50 copay with my insurance which will now be billed to work comp as this was a work injury. Obviously your copay will vary based on your insurance and youu2019ll be billed for subsequent visits (had to laugh at the review of someone complaining about being charged a second time for a second visit u2026) The reviews about misogyny and u201cnavigating healthcare as a womanu201d are hilarious too; people need to grow up. Iu2019m glad I didnu2019t let these dramatic 1 star reviews keep me from coming here because it was worth the visit. Quick. Kind. Convenient. Got the job done.nnNote: Iu2019ve been here before, years ago, and the experience was good then too. I donu2019t recall it in detail but there were no issues.nAlso grateful to the front desk woman this weekend who kindly helped me with the door upon exiting as I couldnu2019t figure out crutches and door on my own. Itu2019s the little things.

I believe this location coded my visit incorrectly, resulting in my insurance company denying my claim. My copay should be $10 for an in-network urgent care, which is what I paid on-site, but now Jefferson is billing me the full amount ($280) for visiting this location. I have been to Jefferson's Washington Square urgent care multiple times and have never paid more than $10. In addition, Jefferson waited nearly six months to send me the bill for my visit, so now I am unable to appeal the denial of coverage to my health insurance company (which only gives me 180 days to appeal).nTo top it off, the doctor misdiagnosed me with a virus (the standard virus tests they performed in the office were negative) when I actually had cellulitis and wound up in the ER two days later (and only had to pay my $35 copay). But I feel like that would have been tough for the provider to diagnose at the time. I am more disappointed in Jefferson's refusal to take responsibility for the billing issue.
