I had such a negative experience with Dr. DeCastro. I have suffered from ADHD symptoms my entire life, and struggled through all of my schooling and with every job. ADD/ADHD wasnu2019t widely understood by the public back in the 1990u2019s, and although my mother took me to get tested for a learning disability in high school in the early 2000u2019s, I wasnu2019t tested for ADHD, and the only outcome of the testing was that my u201cIQ was above averageu201d. I continued to struggle, but went to a very small University where my class sizes were small and my professors allowed me extra time on my exams out of compassion. It wasnu2019t until age 23 when I was struggling with my professional job and my employer was expressing concerns with my productivity, that I talked to my ARC primary care MD, due to my fear of losing my job. He referred me to a psychologist and after testing and interviews with my mom, supervisor, and boyfriend, that I was finally diagnosed with ADHD. I took Adderall for nearly 10 years, but stopped before trying to get pregnant with my husband. I went to see Dr. DeCastro, a supposed ADHD specialist, hoping to discuss some of the newer medications that have come out in the past 10 years, due to continuing to struggle with nearly every symptom of ADHD hour to hour, but not wanting the side effects of Adderall that never seemed to fully help me, but worked better than the other couple of meds my PCP trialed with me. Dr. DeCastro was dismissive of me, claimed that I might be depressed or have anxiety instead of my lifelong multitude of symptoms that I now fully know to be ADHD, would not make eye contact with me, played with his name badge instead, and talked too fast for me to effectively comprehend, despite me asking him to slow down. He was the opposite of what I expected from an ADHD specialist. He said I needed to be retested for ADHD, instead of being willing to take the time to discuss my symptoms with me or start me on a low dose of any medication, despite my diagnosis being in my chart, from my former ARC primary care physician. I was charged $75 dollars for the visit and received a referral for psychology, which I looked in to and cannot afford. I had looked forward to finally getting my symptoms under control, and instead feel defeated and discarded.

Even though I am thoroughly pleased with my doctor at ARC Buda, the staff there is another story. They are extremely unprofessional, rude, and express zero empathy and care. They project frustration every time I ask a question or ask for assistance like they do not want to be bothered. The Buda clinic needs a different staff.

Avoid this facility at all cost.I could tell from the moment walking in that it was a disaster. The office staff is rude and unprofessional. The medical assistant has an attitude and was trying to rush through my check in.I got there at 413.My appointment was at 430 and they donu2019t close until 5.The doctor Maryanne Gamble dismisses you like she doesnu2019t care about you or your comments or concerns about your health.Iu2019ve never met a doctor more unprofessional than I did today.

**Terrible Experience with Dr. Vincenz Decastro, DO**I recently had an appointment with Dr. Vincenz Decastro at Austin Regional Clinic - Buda for an ADHD assessment, and it was the most unprofessional medical experience I've ever encountered. From the moment I walked in, Dr. Decastro was incredibly dismissive and rude. When I began to describe my situation, he told me to calm down, despite the fact that I was merely trying to explain my symptoms quickly to be efficient with our time. His tone and demeanor were condescending and unprofessional, making me feel unwelcome and unheard.Throughout the appointment, Dr. Decastro dismissed my concerns and offered no constructive advice or support. His behavior was not only unprofessional for a doctor but also deeply disrespectful on a personal level.I strongly advise against seeing Dr. Vincenz Decastro if you value your time and well-being. There are far more compassionate and professional doctors available who will treat you with the respect and care you deserve.
