Brought my daughter here today with hesitation from the array of terrible reviews given. Today is a Sunday. She is almost two, has had fever since yesterday (Saturday), and has severely swollen tonsils. I have never taken either of my children to anyone other than their PCP. We only chose urgent care today to avoid the ER (since her needs are non-emergency) but to obtain care since the fever is continuous and she has had febrile seizures in the past. Upon arrival at 10:35 A.M., the staff receiving patients was very rude and simply pointing us into the direction of a kiosk to check-in. She even told one older man, Just do the best you can. There were about six or seven patients who I anticipated would be seen ahead of my daughter. After a two hour wait, my daughter was extremely restless and agitated since she was beginning to run fever again as she hadn't had any medication since we left home. We had already invested that much time waiting to see a doctor, so I chose to wait a little longer. After my daughter screamed and cried for almost another hour, she finally fell asleep only to wake up shortly thereafter with fever again. I was not prepared with medication to alleviate her fever as I sure did not anticipate being in the waiting room for four hours! Yes, four hours I waited with my toddler for absolutely unacceptable service. The nurse vaguely questioned me about her symptoms. I asked for medication since I had not anticipated the extremely long wait. I even mentioned to her that I told the staff up front about my daughter's past seizures and probably should have simply taken her to the ER. As I mentioned before, my thoughts in avoiding the ER were for us not to clog the system with this illness that was not an emergency but was urgent enough not to wait to see her pediatrician hopefully tomorrow...hence going to urgent care. The nurse was never apologetic for the extreme length of wait time nor offered any concern for my daughter's discomfort due to her fever and throat pain. We waited another 45 minutes to see someone else-I say, Someone else, because I have no idea who she is. She never introduced herself to me-only instructed me to place my daughter sitting on the exam table. She proceeded to look into my daughter's ears then her mouth. She then asked me if she had her adenoids and tonsils or if she had tubes in her ears. My daughter does have tubes-She NEVER saw the tubes! Only after I told her did she go back for a second look to examine the functionality of the tubes. She instructed me to give her Dymatapp to dry her up. I explained that my daughter has had no other symptoms besides the fever, severe throat pain, and very swollen tonsils to the point of them touching. She told me that my daughter had an infection and she would be right back with a prescription. I was dumbfounded by her lack of concern and care. My daughter was still crying so we literally just walked out only to find the person who examined my daughter sitting at a computer and talking with the nurse about a non-medical subject. An hour later, I received a message from my pharmacy that my daughter's prescription was ready to be picked up. I called the pharmacy and told them that we would not be picking up the prescription and to please ensure that my insurance was not billed for it. I plan to contact her pediatrician first thing in the morning in hopes to be seen. They're always extremely helpful, and I have no doubt that my daughter's infection will be corrected through their care. I have never written a negative online review before, but I felt compelled to let others know of my experience before they go spend their hard earned money for a service that they expect from this urgent care when they will most probably be disappointed. Our day was completely wasted. I could have kept my daughter home and have her resting than putting her into the hands of completely uncaring and incompetent professionals. Five hours later, and all I received from this urgent care was a bill.

I brought my three old son who had a red bug bite on his private. As soon as the doctor seen him, she told me to take him to the emergency room. I asked what about the 200 + dollars I just spend. They would not refund the money. The emergency room issue him some steroid cream and gave him benadryl. The doctors at Urgent Care are incompetent. The doctor at Urgent Care had no idea how to treat my son, so I had to pay their bill, plus the Emergency room bill for something that a competent doctor could have taking care of. Because of their incompetence, I had to pay over $1000.

It's really hit or miss...when I first started going here Monique was very nice professional, and knowledgeable. But since my experiences haven't been ideal. The wait is long, they sometimes argue with you about insurance information (CoPay) etc etc. But the icing on the cake for me was when my mom fell and cut her face really badly near her eye and she was basically refused service. The NP on call at the time refused to even see her. Very heartbreaking ordeal for me to have to watch my mom suffer...then sit in the ER down the road for hours. I was also was basically missing diagnosed with the flu here last year. I could hear the NP and nurse debating on whether or not they had it. They then prescribed me a medication that wasnt a high enough dosage for my size. I went to my primary doctor the next day and was told I didn't have the flu....so I basically paid almost 200 bucks for ineffective medication based on the NP guessing...hadn't been back since.

I brought my nearly 2 year old here with respiratory issues. While the wait was not long the PA was over the top rude. My son held and was bending my drink straw, she told me I suggest you take that before he stabs himself after explaining our issues and the high cough at night along with the fever she said I am not a pediatrician and wont be prescribing anything I took my son to his usual pediatrician the next day and he has bronchitis and stridor.Southside urgent care in Maurice is amazing!! Well worth the drive and they're open until 8pm.

Ok, where do I begin... Well we got there on a weekday in the afternoon and nobody was in the waiting room, thought great this will be quick!! Wrong!!!! Only saw one other patient come in and one patient in back and we didn't get out of there until 3 hours later!!! Really!! My husband fell and thought he broke his ankle ,swelling and bruising quite badly, x -rays were taken and nurse practitioner comfirned small fracture. Need to splint it. She looked unconfident in what she was doing as the nurse beside her was making faces and comments. Whole time while we waited they did not asked to elevate ankle so it swelled even more from sitting in the chair for 3 hours.... When we left ,I myself had to wheel him out of office to my vehicle in wheelchair.. they had no icepack, offer no meds, and no cruches.. The place looked clean upon arrival but once you get into the rooms there are mouse sticky pads at visible view.. ud83dude11.. The best part though!!! We followed up with an orthopedic the next day and they didn't see an fracture!!!! But made him do a CAT scan just in case cause this nurse practitioner saw a fracture on her xrays.. Nooo fracture!! This is probably my second review I have ever done.. I just couldn't get over how terrible this place was and how aggravated I was when I left... No compassion for their job or patients, just a paycheck!!!
