I never even had to need this hospital and I hope I would never have to go there. I just drop off patients and pick them up sometime. My encounter was with the valet driver. The guy was super rude. He works for the hospital I guess and he was screaming he couldnu2019t speak English at all during communication zero respect even scared the patient that I was driving that day who had heart problems. I even took a picture of him and he had no shame and he couldnu2019t speak English to a point where he can communicate in anyway to people he was just telling random words and acting very rude.

After the loss of my father, I canu2019t stress enough how neglected we felt during our time at this hospital. Our loved one suffered two hemorrhages due to clear negligence, and it was devastating to watch. The nursing staff was often unavailable and indifferent when we sought help. Literally witness nurses and CNAu2019s verbally fighting in the hallway @ the nurses station on level 5 in each others faces. Supervisor Raymond no-where to be found. Alex RN on level 5 horrible bed side manner. Had to ask him to change his gloves after he cleaned my father. Than went to administer medication. They also left a bed pan with feces under my father for hours till we got there. Also found pills under my fatheru2019s bed.nnGetting answers from the doctor Dr. Scott Cotler was nearly impossible; leaving us in the dark about our loved oneu2019s condition. The lack of honesty and compassion was heartbreaking. My family member chose Dr. Scott Cotler as his hepatologist but when it came time to go to the hospital and be seen by the transplant group of doctors including Dr. Rubin who has horrible be side manner. It was a nightmare! PLEASE choose a better group. Dr. Scott Cotler may be a great DR. but once you are at the hospital under the group care you will be neglected. Left to die.nnOn top of that, the hospital itself is outdated and dirty!! We tried everything to get him transferred. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone, especially for something as crucial as organ transplant. This experience made an already painful situation even worse. Please consider all your options and do not trust this hospital with your loved ones. You deserve better care

Was a wonderful hospital 15-20 years ago. Chose to transfer my mother's care to Northwestern Memorial. My father accidentally ended up here a couple years ago, I was notified after the fact. Doctors were not forthcoming with details, he would have to hold his #2, the hospital is dirty, some CNA's are blatantly lazy and dismissive. Just an awful experience. I'm so glad he's better now. I've transferred his care to Northwestern as well. I will say my PCP is on Loyola's staff and he's wonderful. I would never visit the Maywood, Gottlieb or Macneal hospitals for anything. I outsource any special procedure or test requested of me to another hospital. Loyola is not the hospital that it once was. Don't leave your loved one overnight by themselves if you can avoid it.

Did not appreciate how rude and unhelpful Loyola Medical Center has been. Especially with no medical background and just wanting to know information.nAlmost all of the nurses and workers here are so rude. They roll their eyes at you when youu2019re asking for info. We give them time and patience and understand if they have alot going on, but they just shoo us off and rush with updates or any info when it does come to the time they have to come to our room. Emphasis on RUDE. I do not recommend coming to this hospital cause they do not want to help and will forsure show you that they do not want to help. Bald guy, mid 30s and wearing glasses on the first floor at the radiology unit was the most ignorant and unhelpful person ever. They will make you chase them and get mad that they ACTUALLY have to do their jobs. My mom and I had to figure out almost everything ourselves. Our family friend who is a nurse that came to visit us here was astonished at how unprofessional and unsanitary they are. She pointed out certain protocols that they were not following or meeting. Almost seems as if theyu2019re only here to gossip instead of helping their patients. Very unprofessional.

Loyola Hospital has some truly outstanding doctors, nurses, and techs who clearly care and work hard to serve patients with professionalism and compassion. However, the overall experience was frustrating. The ER wait times are incredibly long, the parking situation is chaotic, and itu2019s ridiculous to have to pay for parking dailyu2014especially when youu2019re already dealing with the stress of medical care.nnWhat stood out most was the lack of genuine care and advocacy from their licensed clinical social workers. As someone advocating for a Black family member, it was disheartening to see how little priority was given to her care. My mother wasnu2019t treated with the level of compassion or urgency she deserved, and it felt like her needs were dismissed rather than addressed. Loyola, you have incredible medical staff, but you need to invest more in patient experience, equity, and support services. Please do better.
