Incredibly unhappy with the level of communication skill after my visit for a health check up. Iu2019ve used this office several times and although everyone is incredibly nice, I donu2019t think they are able to help you fully. My request for medical files have gone ignored several times and I called the office twice and was on the phone for over twenty minutes each time trying to get my results sent over to cedars. They couldnu2019t even find the referral and doctor was not messaging me back on the app for over two weeks. I find it unaprofessional and unacceptable.

Last week I had an appointment at Men's Health Foundation on Sunset and I am still processing the experience. Things started out well with a very nice nurse reviewing my vitals and my current meds. Things went south very quickly when I met a Nurse Practitioner (not going to mention his name). He proceeded to quiz me about my meds and asked me why I was taking testosterone and Clomid together. I said my previous Dr. prescribed the combination to maintain fertility and testicular size. He completely disagreed and told me I was wrong. My phone then rang with an emergency from my office, I apologized and said this will only take 15 seconds. I completed the call in 12 seconds and again apologized for the interruption , he then proceeded to lecture me on how rude that was and that obviously we don't like each other. WTF? How did he come to that conclusion. In any event, he told me to reschedule with someone else. I have never had an experience like this from a medical professional. After my appointment I reached out to my urologist, Dr. Michel (Cedars), and he confirmed that the testosterone/Clomid combination is correct. As a 20 year board member, 10 years as Co Chair of the LA LGBT Center I know how important trust is between the patient/provider. I hope this experience and this Nurse Practitioner isn't typical of Men's Health Foundation.

Itu2019s 0415 and Iu2019m writing this as Iu2019m walking out of my appointment which was supposed to be at 0320. What is point of having an appointment system, sending out multiple reminder emails, asking me to fill out forms online with the pretext of not having to wait when I actually arrive for my appointment - if youu2019re going to keep me waiting for almost an hour!nI just moved back in to town, and thought I could find a primary care physician here with Charles Estrella. I wanted to leave at multiple points during this, what is, to be frank, an absolutely insulting experience - but I gave SoCal MMG and the doctor the benefit of the doubt. But then again, I realized, whatu2019s the point of trying to find a PCP, with whom I want to build a respectful and trusting doctor-patient relationship if itu2019s starting out in such a disappointing and disrespectful manner.nYeah, weu2019ve all got MDs and PhDs - I took hours off important work I was doing today to make this appointment only to get treated like Iu2019m at a free clinic.nTo SoCal MMG - if youu2019ve actually got an genuine reason to keep a person, let alone a patient, waiting for an hour, Iu2019d love to hear it. Youu2019ve got my email and number on file.nnEdit 8/10/2023nAfter a 105 deg fever that lasted over a week, directly following this incident, and a visit to the ER - still no word from this organization about their piss poor bedside manners. Caveat emptor, I guess.

Iu2019ve read some poor reviews on here so I wanted to make sure and chime in. I have been seeing Dr Defoto for many years. After living outside of LA for 6 years I recently came back last year and have been to the office three times since being back. Every visit continues to be perfect. All staff are always very friendly and punctual, and Defoto is awesome as always.
