I donu2019t usually leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent experience at MXM Health Urgent Care in Flowoodu2014especially for those who may be seeking care on a weekend when options are limited.nnOn Sunday, I drove out to this location, arriving at 5:40 p.m., well before their posted closing time of 6:00 p.m., hoping to be seen for a simple concern. To my disappointment, I was met with confusion and what felt like hostility from the front desk manager, Paige, who told me they u201cstop seeing patients at 5:30.u201d This policy is not publicly posted anywhere, and if it is their practice, it should be made clear online and on their signageu2014especially for people seeking urgent care after regular business hours.nnWhat made this experience worse was the attitude and energy I received. Instead of a warm or understanding tone, Paigeu2019s body language was defensive, dismissive, and frankly not what you expect from a healthcare provideru2014especially one working in an urgent care setting. When I asked to speak with the doctor (Dr. Poyner), I was told they were on a virtual call and unavailable, with no effort made to escalate the concern or offer alternatives.nnUrgent care should be exactly thatu2014urgent and caring. Instead, I felt unwelcome, dismissed, and left without care, despite arriving during posted hours. If you are not feeling well, vulnerable, or in need of last-minute medical attention, this is not the place to go. I strongly encourage MXM Health to revisit its policiesu2014and more importantly, how its staff communicates and treats patients.

I was rudely refused care at the Flowood, MAX Urgent Care Clinic on May 15, 2025. When I arrived, the young woman asked what kind of service I required, and when I told her about the boil under my arm and my leg, she told me she could only address one issue. For the pain, she asked me what I wanted. She went to talk to the doctor in the rear. I asked her for her name when she returned. She informed me that I may receive antibiotics and pain medication. I've visited the clinic numerous times, but I've never received this kind of care. She then informed me that I had a balance. I informed her that I lacked the funds, MAX Urgent Care could not see me unless the bill was paid. I feel like she invaded the Hippo Law, my privacy.

In town from Savannah to help settle my fatheru2019s estate which is understandably very stressful and emotional. My anxiety and blood pressure was concerning me and decided to get checked. Because Iu2019m from out of town I checked my insurance app for a facility in my plan and ended up here and what a complete waste of time. Indeed my blood pressure was up, other than acknowledge it, no suggestions or recommendations were made. After waiting in the exam room for twenty minutes, and there were no other patientu2019s waiting, the nurse practitioner spent less than five minutes with me. I get that she couldnu2019t give me something like Xanax, but giving me an antihistamine and exiting the roomu2014-I didnu2019t get the impression she took my situation seriously or cared enough to make some other suggestions. Walked out feeling totally dismissed and I would never go back to this Urgent Care.

I waited for an hour in an empty waiting room then waited another hour in the exam room just so the NP could call the Dr to ask his opinion on my case. I was seen for maybe 5 minutes tops on a visit that lasted over 2 hours with very few answers to my questions. The NP and medical assistant were both nice but the NP didnu2019t really seem like she felt professionally qualified to be answering my questions or helping me in any way without the okay from the Dr.

The wait was over an hour long with 2 people working and only 2 people in the waiting room. The receptionist was very rude and did not seem to like her job one bit. I would not recommend going here. They are very understaffed to be a clinic.
