Well, I wouldnu2019t exactly call it a five-star experience, but it wasnu2019t a complete train wreck either! You know me, Iu2019m like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs when it comes to McAlester Healthcareu2014always cautious! When they have a blunder, oh boy, itu2019s like theyu2019re trying to win a gold medal in the mess-up Olympics!nnAnd let's talk about the front desk situation. Sometimes it feels like theyu2019re playing hide and seek, and Iu2019m definitely not winning!nnScheduling with healthcare? Itu2019s like trying to convince a cat to take a bath! And the front desk? Seriously, I just need a little help, not a scavenger huntu2014like, am I hunting for buried treasure here? Trying to book an appointment feels like trying to find WiFi in the middle of a desert! Iu2019m just trying to find a doctor, not decipher hieroglyphics! And of course, when you finally get someone, they say, u201cHow about three weeks from Tuesday at 3:17 PM?u201d Well, I hope it comes with a complimentary time machine!

I went to the McAlester ER this morning, for diagnosis of a knee problem, and, first of all, I was impressed with how nice the waiting area was, since I hadnu2019t seen it since it was redone. The entire process from check-in, to seeing the doctor, having X-rays taken and getting the results only took a total of two hours. The nurses, doctor and X-ray tech were all so nice. The only negative was the woman that checked me in; she was unfriendly and abrupt. All in all, my experience was very positive. Thank you Dr. Nelson, nurse Jennifer and the others, whose names I did not get. You are appreciated.

My mother showed up to the ER today after being told she had internal bleeding yesterday by unnamed doctor #1, Today she was sent home being told she had no internal bleeding. This would be amazing news, if the doctor that showed up was the doctor it was supposed to be in the first place. My mother was supposed to see unnamed doctor #1 from the previous day who has treated her in a similar situation, unnamed doctor #2 walked into her room. This was not his patient, he was then told to and I quote, 'Treat her since he had already walked in' . She was supposed to see a specific doctor for a specific problem and then was told she had no internal bleeding? I've watched her stomach jiggle similar to a zip-lock bag full of water, my mother is a 5 foot 7 inch 120 pound woman, it should not and has not done that since. If the wrong doctor was sent in how do I have the peace of mind my mother was treated properly?nnThis is extremely unprofessional and I will be speaking with the highest up I can about the constant injustice and death tolls of Mcalester Regional Hospital, the constant lack of attention to details and care for the people who are simply looking for the help they cannot give themselves. For these things to be something a daughter worries about is absurd and something that should not be happening. It's not just me either, the amount of one star reviews on this establishment leads me to believe some are being deleted, some who have had similar issues to me and my family. My mother can hardly walk properly due to the pain, whoever I can speak to I will speak to and DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE IF YOU WANT THEM TO COME HOME SAFE AND TREATED.nnMight I remind whatever official/Employee that reads this and decides to reply that you are legally not allowed to review any names of, or look into anything regarding the patient. If this is common knowledge of patient, no discrimination will occur as that is not medical law as long as there is no bodily threat to the medical professional. I will be in contact with superiors of Mcalester Regional, if and when possible so my name will be relevant to those who can make change and did NOT send my mother home possibly deathly ill.nnThank you for your time and please do not take this review lightly. They send home very sick people, they send home people who truly need help and would be in a bad way otherwise. My mother was not kept over night, last time something like this happened she lost 1/3 of her body blood volume. There is nothing to prevent this from happening to other people other than advocacy. In my opinion going to Mcalester Regional for anything other than a simple check up is a waste of your time and hard earned insurance. Some doctors are kind, others are looking to get you out and fill up the room again with someone else they'll most likely do nothing for.

My sister who was born with and struggled with several health issues was treated worse this morning than a human deserves. Dr Sims in the ER has NO compassion, NO heart and NO empathy. Straight told her that her symptoms were physically impossible. Guess what Dr Sims not only are they possible but she was admitted to another hospital and currently in emergency surgery for the u201cimpossibleu201d. He wouldnu2019t even run blood work or any tests cause he said u201cthey wonu2019t show anything and will waste our timeu201d. He told her to leave when she tried to tell him what was going on. She didnu2019t want pain pills or anything before anyone goes there she wanted to know why she could not stop throwing up and felt so bad. He never checked anything on her because his u201cprofessionalu201d opinion was it wasnu2019t possible to not hold anything down as she had been. Thankfully there was another hospital who saw she was miserable and ran 1 test that showed the problem. Thankfully another hospital has what this ER lacks. Thankfully she is being taken care of as a human deserves. Please if you care about your loved ones donu2019t waste time going to this ER. It almost cost us her life.
