If it sounds too good to be true, ITS BECAUSE IT IS, as it pertains to the coverage Mike offered me.nnI spoke to Mike on a Mon I explained my somewhat lengthy story as to why I didnu2019t have insurance for the past 5 months, yadda yadda yadda, he said he could have coverage for me the very next day, it would be a little over $200 and bonus my asthma medication would be covered at a tier 1 price of $25! I was a bit skeptical since Iu2019ve never actually been uninsured before so I asked for him to send me the information via email.nnUpon reviewing it I discovered that my asthma was a preexisting condition and therefore not covered. So I called him back to verify the information he sent me was correct but he wasnu2019t available so I emailed him back and asked that he call me or respond via email on if it was covered or not and if it wasnu2019t what I could do to get coverage for it. Didnu2019t hear back from him on Mon so I called UHC directly. They told me nothing pre existing would be covered and that there was no way they could cover me from one day to the next because it had to go through underwriting so it would take about a week to know if I was eligible. And the coverage and deductibles Mike offered me were not an option through UHC. I was surprised to say the least so I called Mike again and left him a Voice Mail Tues morning. Again, all day passed no return call.nnFast forward to Wed, I just called him he answered and gave me the run around about his email having issues the day before. I said okay well I emailed you 2 days ago and have left you a message for the past 2 days as well...in my book thatu2019s strike 1. I need an agent who reads my emails and returns my calls in a timely manner. Strike 2 came when I asked if in fact the coverage would not extend to my asthma medication as it was preexisting, despite his claims that they would only cost $25. He said well yeah youu2019re right they wouldnu2019t be covered, and I said okay and UHC said I wouldnu2019t have coverage for 5 days at least because it had to go to underwriting so how is it that you can give me coverage the very next day? Strike 2...well he says technically I say you have coverage the next day but you donu2019t bc I count it from when I send in the application.nnWhere I come from this is just lying and being deceitful or ignorant of what you do for a living. When I asked him which ones he was he said he didnu2019t know me and became quite defensive. Strike 3...I told him it was simply a question as the information he gave me was completely inaccurate and he had me ready to use his agency by giving false information. He said the advice he could give me was to find another place to go through. I think he clearly missed the point that I had no intention of using someone who didnu2019t know what they were talking about or were just giving false information to get my business. He said they werenu2019t commission based at the end of the conversation but I donu2019t know if that makes it better or worse that he just made these false promises with no intention of following through just because. Had I signed up i would have been out the money and when I had a question he would have been MIA or just said oh yeah I guess I was wrong. I assured him I was not asking for his advice in the least and never would have used his agency.nnDo yourself a favor research all documentation prior to signing anything this man offers you as I would have been in deep trouble had I thought I could go to the Dr or Dentist the next day!!! I tried to speak to Mike directly to get to the bottom of why he gave me all of this inaccurate information but all I got was his deep offense at my question which was clearly fair of me to ask as UHC was correct in all the ACCURATE information they gave me.nnI am really appalled that during the current crisis this agent freely spouts off false promises and takes no accountability when confronted with facts!
