My father was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer at this hospital in January 2024. At the time, aside from some difficulty opening his mouth, he was otherwise in good health and full of life. Sadly, he passed away in June 2024u2014just five months after starting treatment here.According to his death certificate, he died due to respiratory failure. But as someone who was by his side every step of the way, I truly believe his health rapidly declined after he began chemotherapy and radiation therapyu2014treatments that, given the severity and progression of his cancer, were unlikely to improve his condition. Yet, these were the treatments strongly advised by his medical team.I understand that every illness is complex and outcomes can be unpredictable. I also believe in Godu2019s plan and that some things are simply beyond our control. But I also believe that in moments like these, the guidance and decisions made by doctors are critical. In my fatheru2019s case, I feel that he was given the wrong adviceu2014treatments that did more harm than good. Watching him suffer through the side effects of aggressive therapy, only to lose him shortly after, was heartbreaking.Iu2019m not a medical professional, and I donu2019t pretend to have all the answers. But I share this in the hope that it encourages reflection among those in the medical field. Please consider each patientu2019s quality of life and unique situation when offering treatment recommendations. Sometimes, the best care is not the most aggressive optionu2014but the most compassionate one. This experience has been incredibly painful for our family, and I hope no one else has to endure the same.

Very poor customer service on the general billing line for NYU Langone - the rep was rude and dismissive when I called to ask a few questions about an estimate. I wasn't even calling to complain, just trying to understand more about what the charges meant/were based on and if the estimate was correct, as it was quite high for a particular service. The rep quickly took a hostile tone, and spent the rest of the call trying to argue me down and rationalize why the estimate of course made sense, as if there was no reason to question it, without having actual knowledge about the situation. I'm sure the customer service role must be challenging, just looking for some basic courtesy and polite treatment as a customer.

I really thought coming here was gonna be a better experience especially since google said this is the best place to go too for lupus. This emergency room should be ashamed of themselves. They suck. And i feel like i keep being brushed off. After telling them my symptoms and reasons why i came here. And on top of that they donu2019t pay mind to the seniors who can fall when they keep trying to get up ud83eudd26ud83cudffcu200du2640ufe0f i hope if i get admitted its a better experience than the emergency room.

For psychiatry inpatient.. it was a terrible experience from beggining, to finally, the discharge. I was there for a month. One of the group facilitators has a language barrier. I pray to not end up with mental issues again so i don't go here but there are other places. I think i preferred new york presbyterian more. The staff were engaging there. Here? Forget it. There was another place a bit better too. If you're going to push groups on us.
