I was so impressed by the team of medical professionals who oversaw my care. They were caring listeners who look at the whole person, not just their symptoms. They were thorough and spent over 90 minutes taking my vitals, looking over my past test results and asking questions about my health.nnTheir TV commercial reflects Oak Street Health's focus on preventative care. I was looking for a primary care physician near my home. No need to look any further. They won me over!

NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR TRANSGENDER PATIENTS! All of the staff misgendered me at all 3 appointments. I told them I was trans during my 1st visit. Iu2019m 28 and in a power wheelchair. One staff member, Margie, belittled me; called me u2018Girl!u2019 in front of the whole lobby. While I was waiting to sign my exit paperwork at the front desk, I told Margie that she/her are Not my pronouns and then the front desk lady called me she/her pronouns when speaking to Margie 3 seconds later. NOT a safe place if you are young, disabled, and use a power wheelchair. They tried to give me a $20 donut after I asked for help getting through to my DME provider. (To recieve a new $400 power wheelchair cushion that my OT team had already written a prescription for.)

Enjoyed the efficient and well managed enrollment and your community room was a bonus. It's very enjoyable to finally have a doctor that just does not see you as a number!!! Although it was a annual checkup I really felt that I was being heard and understood. My new doctor made me feel like I've made the right choice, for my future medical needs!

My first appointment. Didn't know it was gonna take almost 2 hours of sitting alone in their TV room and exam room. And what is so strange is I only saw one other patient besides myself the whole time I was there. And when I finally saw the nurse practitioner. She didn't want to treat the medical problem that I came there for. And didn't want to see the pictures I had of my medical problem because I was told they don't treat your medical problems on the first visit. The whole experience was very strange, and uncomfortable.
