I've given birth here twice. The first time was alright. But the 2nd time was a year and a half ago and I can't stop thinking about it. I wasn't gonna complain, but the longer it's been the angrier I am. I started panicking when I went into active labor because I was only 6 centimeters and I was sweating trying not to push. It was very difficult even with the epidural. They sent in some random lady I'd not met to comfort me? She kept asking me why i was so concerned because this wasn't my first time. She honestly didn't seem interested in being there and I wish she wasn't. When it was finally show time, I had a couple of nurses, the doc, my husband, and my mom. This would be the second time they refused to allow me to birth in any position other than lying on my back. My daughter got stuck. They kept telling me to hold back from making any sound while I pushed because it would weaken the power of my push if I made sounds. I disagreed, because for me, that wasn't true. But the whole time they kept urging me to be silent. They finally pulled my baby the rest of the way out of me. At some point the doc dramatically removed her gloves, said have a c section next time, and left the room. There were 2 nurses checking over my baby to make sure she wasn't hurt from the way she came out. I started violently shaking, crying, and the pain became unbearable. I asked them to please see if something was wrong, as my first birth was nothing like this. They kept telling me just a minute and ignoring me. It just kept getting worse. Then I said I think I just peed all over myself, like a lot. They reluctantly came to look. They took the blanket off, there was no urine at all. Just a bunch of blood. Turns out my catheter was taken out a long time ago and my bladder was extremely full, keeping the placenta site, wide open and bleeding. Next thing I know they're shoving a catheter up there, which is very painful since the epidural effects were long gone. They gave me a shot in my thigh and said something about it helping to slow the bleeding. But when I tell you I had to beg for help. The entire time I just felt like an inconvenience. I appreciate medical staff, deeply, but this?

Out patient lab at providence hospital on glisan street....after we signed in with the machine at the door,15 min later we were called to the desk and than they said they needed us to forward the email that we got from the Dr. ordering the test. We did this and waited 2 more hours waiting for them to get the email. Still not here so went to the desk to ask and long story short 3 times later(forward the email again to them). Asked them to call and they said they were to busy to do that. Now waiting 3 hours and still waiting for the assistance to get blood work. Mind you we came from the dalles or . We first went to hood river and they couldn't get a type and cross there as they didn't have the correct machine to do it. We were told to be here. Honestly this truly sucks!

If youu2019re wondering why staff are striking and why we should be supporting them, take a few minutes to read my personal experiences. I have a lot to say and it exceeded the character limit so Iu2019ve included my testimony via photos instead.TL;DR: Avoid u201ctreatmentu201d here because you wonu2019t get it.

My complaint is not towards the nurse or doctor. We love providence and the emergency room staff. However housekeeping needs help. I was brought back to a room with my 1 year old son today and I sat him down on the bed. I noticed a ripped glove, crumbs, reddish and brown marks all over the draw sheet, the pillow and a huge wet spot in the pillow. I did touch the marks and they werenu2019t u201cstainsu201d. I could clearly feel they were raised so obviously it hadnu2019t been laundered. I touched it because I can wash my hands with hot water and soap and I wanted to know what was all over the bed my baby was expected to lay on. There was also meds by the computer when we walked in that I donu2019t think were ours because they had been in there when we first arrived into the room. I did kindly and nicely mention it and the person I mentioned it too apologized but kept telling me it was a clean room and the pillow must be wet from being wiped downu2026okayu2026but also thereu2019s a thicker raised brown mark on the same pillow, crumbs all over the bed and a ripped glove? I was going to fill out a comment card but I didnu2019t get one. Again this is not to do with our nurses or doctor! They are all so caring and great.

They billed me more than double the national average price for an ER level 3 visit, then refused to negotiate on price at all despite me presenting a peer-reviewed study on typical prices for ER codes. If you have the ability, drag your injured self to Portland.
