I was in a room with er staff in less than 10 minutes from my arrival. They were very concerned about my condition and made me feel assured that I was getting top notch medical treatment, and I did! Very friendly and helpful in every way. Iu2019ve tried another local hospital, but they will NEVER see my smiling face again! Everyone, please consider giving Rapides Regional a try. You wonu2019t be disappointed! Thanks to staff for resolving my issue in an extremely professional manner!!!

where do I even begin with this ER. given 2 stars because they got us back and triaged fast just had to wait a minute for a room which is expected. everyone was very kind BUT the Np did not lay a stethoscope on my child, look in his throat/ears, no assessment at all except from his chair behind his computer. as a pediatric critical care nurse I was mind blown. there are SO many things you can miss by not properly assessing. if you want the nurses to wash their hands you should probably put the hand sanitizer by the door where they can reach it not above a paper towel dispenser. SMH. I accompanied my child to XR where I told the guy I could step out for the image even tho I wasn't pregnant and they proceeded to shoot the image with me still in the room and not offering any lead. Nurses rarely wore gloves including for an IV stick which I was thankful she got it after the other 2 misses from another nurse. Lastly, we waited over an hour for the nurse being back my sons IVF bolus after I attempted to call the nurses station with no answer and a family member had to call due to not being able to reach my call light since my child was sleeping. When the nurse came to hang the fluids I asked if they could go on a pump (ALL pediatric fluids should go on a pump for safety reasons due to weight based dose) the nurse kept blowing my concerns off and asked if I could have my child hold his hand on my thigh while the bolus infused by gravity. try having a 2 year old sit perfectly still for an hour. So of course the fluids stopped infusing, I asked 2-3 nurses for a pump in which one of them told me they couldn't find one due to being so busy which I understand but totally inappropriate for a hospital to not provide their nurses with the materials they need to take care of their patients. so the bolus infused for maybe 10 minutes stopped and I asked if we could leave due to my kid screaming and not being able to be still for the gravity fluids. thankfully everything turned out to be normal and he was okay but I can't imagine taking my actual sick child here and recieving good care.

I had a 3pm ultrasound followed by a 3:45 mammogram. Both departments were aware of both appointments. I didnu2019t get called back for Ultrasound until 4:15pm. Staff made other dept. aware and they were willing to wait for me. I didnu2019t get out of ultrasound dept until 4:45pm. The mammogram technician had graciously waited for me and stayed to complete the test which I was very appreciative of. Not the best experience overall.

Majority of staff was polite. It was fairly busy so screenings took longer. Once I was finished I asked if I can be discharged the nurse said that's fine. But once I looked on my chart it stated I just left and couldn't be located which raised some confusion.

I didnu2019t know I was having a panic attack. I thought I was having a stroke or a heart attack because I had a really bad headache. The nurse practitioner took her time. Told me she knew it was a panic attack before anything else. She said I could tell it was a panic attack when you walked in. I wanna know how she could tell that. I wanna know why she insisted she give me Xanax Strong Xanax. She talked down to me and I can promise you I know why women donu2019t come in if they think it might be a panic attack versus a heart attack. She absolutely proved my point. At 60 years old I wonu2019t go back. Maybe I die at home maybe I donu2019t. But I can promise you I will never be treated like that again. Thank you for the very nice nurse that helped me take out my IV so I could go home. Because she saw the NP in my face. Asking me if I needed more Xanax. Or Benadryl! Talk about condescending.
