I had a great experience at Main Street Urgent Care in Arab! The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient. I was seen quickly, and the nurse practitioner took the time to listen to my concerns and explain everything clearly. The facility was clean and well-organized, and I felt genuinely cared for throughout my visit. Itu2019s such a relief to have a reliable urgent care option in town. Highly recommend to anyone needing prompt and compassionate care!

I have visited this clinic several times in the past but would never again step my foot there! I brought my 3-year-old in for a basic sick visit back in February and was shocked to receive over $600 in charges for routine tests like flu, RSV, strep, and urinalysis - many of which I was not told would be billed separately at such high rates. The office visit alone was billed at $332, and that did not include any of the tests or even the interpretation of those test results - the reading of the flu and Covid tests were billed at $70 each!!! There was no clear explanation of costs upfront. Parents - be cautious and ask for a full breakdown before agreeing to any services. I am including a full breakdown of my bill below.nnHere is what they billed and what we ended up owing:nu2022tTotal Charges: $614.00nu2022tInsurance Adjustments: $341.31nu2022tPaid by Insurance: $169.40nu2022tAmount We Owe: $103.29

We usually go here for convenience, but each time the experience has gotten worse. Besides the fact you have to check in at a tablet and have no human to interact with, it is the longest wait time and visit I have ever experienced. However, this last visit was the last straw. The incompetence was proven by Nurse Practitioner Taylor.nnI had take my son in two weeks earlier due to a persistent cough and because I knew there were confirmed cases of whooping cough (pertussis) at his school. They said they couldnu2019t test for that without sending swabs off but tested for everything they could rapidly and it came back negative. They treated his ear infection and sent us home.nnWe came back two weeks later and I told them we didnu2019t need swabs because I was confident it was whooping cough. They said that they had to swap him and send it off for results which would take up to two days. So we did the swabs and waited. She eventually came in and said that she had been listening to his cough and felt that it was a low probability that he had whooping cough, but u201cknew it would make me feel better to know for sure.u201d I replied u201c Oh I know itu2019s whooping cough. Look it up on YouTube and thatu2019s my son.u201d She refused to treat without a positive test.nnThankfully I didnu2019t listen to her and took him to another doctor the following day and they began treatment for whooping cough. 4 DAYS later Taylor at urgent care called me to tell me he had whooping cough as well as 2 other respiratory infections and urged me to take him to ER for a CT scan of his lungs and to see if he needed to be admitted. I assume she was panicked trying to cover her self for delaying treatment for 4 days. And she didnu2019t know I got a second opinion and treatment had already began. The doctor who treated my son said he did not need to go to er or receive a CT and to continue treatment as we have. They also couldnu2019t believe Taylor didnu2019t start treatment knowing he had been exposed. Thank goodness I listened to my gut and advocated for my son. Imagine I had listened to NP Taylor and delayed his treatment for 4 days how worse off would he be with 3 respiratory infections ?? 10/10 do not recommend.

I'm sad that you guys have made it so difficult to talk to the staff. You have put barriers against your patients such that people just can't walk in and talk to someone. I can't even call and get a human. I have to call and then get a text to respond. What is going on? The staff is friendly and efficient but why do I need to go through ten levels of verification to even get to someone? The lobby makes it seem as if you are closed. It's certainly gives off a cold and forbidding atmosphere. Please open your office back up and make it a warm welcoming place again. People are coming to you sick and need help not a touch screen.
