If you can't correctly read and communicate a test to a patient, you shouldn't charge them for it. Have a nearly 5k hospital bill from here (would have been 3x that without insurance) and they can't even read their own tests.I went for abdominal pain and they failed to mention, or put in the report that there were additional masses in my ovaries. Solid masses, not just cysts. It's nowhere in my paperwork! I read it all and so did a couple of nurse friends. It wasn't so much as mentioned to me either. My gyno reviewed their scans and found it. I should be paying them for these tests, not the ER. Because St Joe are idiots and can't even read their own scans.I could have CANCER and they DIDN'T TELL ME.Horrible experience. They need to remove my billing for this, because what good is a test if not properly interpreted?

Went to the ER 3 times just this month because of panic attacks that I thought were heart attacks. The staff from check-in, the nurses and doctors were all great to me. They acted quickly, with respect, showed empathy and were very thorough with their tests. I felt pretty ridiculous after the tests were negative for thinking I was having a heart attack but they didn't make me feel that way. They made me feel safe, comfortable and welcome and made sure that I knew to come right back in if the pains got any worse. Great place, great people and very efficient.

Large facility with huge waiting room, outdoor walking area, dining area, and food options. Absolutely Beautiful chapel and separate spaces for Muslims. Nurses and doctors have been communicative and offer many services and specialities. Not all the nurses are trained great.Huge parking areas on every side. Easy access to the two main roads with any restaurant and store you need/want!The rooms have a great view of the ponds and the televisions provide spiritual and calming channels. An HR member FaceTimes with the patient twice a day to check on the efficiency of the facilities and staff which is a HUGE step forward for all hospitals.Christian based so thereu2019s crosses and statues everywhere to provide a calm environment. Main lobby is huge and welcoming with the South Bend Chocolate Cafe, chapel, and gift shop. Everything is in Spanish as well which is great!Quassi Salamah is the ICU doctor and very polite, easy spoken, and seems positive and calming.Margaret Ann Quate-Operacz was very professional, patient, and confident with her knowledge.Bryan and Leny are very knowledgeable and hospitable! Leny has been extremely attentive and goes out of her way to provide the best care! The housekeepers provide updates on when last cleaned and accountability.

If I could give this place half a star I would. Iu2019ve been in 2 times at the end of January, genuinely thinking I was dying. The first time was fine/normal my doc and nurses were so sweet and understanding. However, the second time was a nightmare. I went in because my pain was even worse and not only was my male doctor rude to me and my mother he REFUSED to give me pain medication even though I was experiencing the worst pain Iu2019ve ever felt. Iu2019m a young female and he said something along the lines of that I was fine to fight it without pain medicine which was VERY unprofessional and obviously untrue seeing the amount of pain I was experiencing, my nurse ended up having to over rule his decision. I thank the nurse but I would NEVER recommend going here especially if you get him as a doctor, especially if youu2019re a young female. I was in agony for days after just because he didnu2019t prescribe me anything for the pain.

Usually I don't do this for hospitals however this particular incident has to be spoken about. My husband has been in terrible pain for the past 3 days. My last hope to get him any kind of relief is that hospital I've trusted my life to(which is St. Joseph hospital). Now, I have no idea where the good/respectable employees went, but they need to get them back, because this nurse or whatever she is (because she's definitely not a responsible, respectful nurse) was rude and disrespectful. My husband has had blood in his urine for the past 3 days. I've noticed this because I've been in the medical field. Now, she had asked my husband with little knowledge of what hematuria is let alone what it looks like. Well I was trying to let the nurse know when I saw it at a different hospital when he did a urine sample and she's like you look at his pee I said well he's my husband. She says oh well I have a husband and I don't look at his pee. Now this is when I got frustrated because it was totally unprofessional and ridiculous. I then tried to explain why or how I looked at his pee (because he went to the hospital two days prior and I saw the cup of urine). She dismissed me. When we went out to the lobby which mind you we've been waiting an hour and there's one person in front of us that been waiting for quite awhile I overheard her talking to the lady in check in laughing at what I had said etc. Not knowing that I overheard their unprofessional communication. I walked up to her and I said you do realize that I overheard your conversation about me right, and that's very unprofessional she then said Ya, do you want me to say it again as if she was trying to start a conflict. At this point I asked for a manager she said oh this is third shift there's no manager on site at the moment but I'll get you my charge nurse. I said perfect so I told the charge nurse and she said she'll forward it the manager. However I'll be calling myself in the morning to make the complaint. Now I understand this is long but I wouldn't come here after six because the people working are straight up rude and disrespectful!!!
