Horrible environment. Was there in my role as a social worker. Most of the staff was apathetic, patients reported that the food was inedible, patients not treated well. Psychiatrist was at best a resident and did not have wide knowledge of psychiatry. Medication errors were commonplace and even when I brought them to their attention they gave my client half her blood pressure medication that have been previously prescribed and neglected to give her an antidepressant that she was prescribed. This resulted in hypertensive crises as well as a post-discharge major depressive episode. When I assisted her in filing a rights complaint, their employee who is supposed to serve to protect the rights of the clients and patients did a ridiculously cursory investigation. My client got no sleep, poor medical care and the temperature was so high there in the '80s that she had fungal infections from sweat.Avoid at all costs. If I could do something to close this place I would. It did my person more harm than good.

Friend stayed at Samaritan Behavioral Center and had a court case he was supposed to be at. They assured my friend they got a letter or rescheduled the court case when they in fact did not. Treated my friend badly to the point where he compared his stay similar to being in jail with him leaving his stay with more potential for legal trouble. Also was extremely difficult to reach and talk to my friend during his stay as well, had receptionist say to me y'all tripping when talking on the phone with me.

The second day being here, I was physically attacked by a nurse because she was talking inappropriately towards me, and I decided to pull out my cellphone and record her. Once she saw that she was being recorded, she panicked! She immediately pushed away from her desk as she stood up, walked around her table, and once she entered striking range, she attacked... she went right at my phone, attempting to take it from me or break it by knocking it to the floor. I struggled with her as she grew angrier and angrier... she began to squeeze my fingers and tried to pressure me into giving her my phone. She shoved me into the hallway BACKWARD (I was in wheelchair)....I WAS IN FEAR.... After a few minutes of me talking her down, she calmed down and then proceeded to act normal! I was afraid and confused as to what to do... once she calmed down, she seemed like a totally different person... but I had seen the other side of this woman and that mean side could pop out in an instant...Also, 80% of the staff is there only for a paycheck and the least amount of work they can do, they will do... don't come here if you're in need because THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR NEEDS!!! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS THE END OF THEIR 12HR WORK SHIFT...Anything between the punching in and punching out is, to them, a distraction to be avoided!
