I had my second baby here recently. The staff was amazing. So kind and really cared about our wishes for the birth and baby care. We felt so cared for here during our stay. The facility is very clean, modern, and has lots of amenities. Will definitely be having any more children here in the future.

Friday night May 16, I had blood pressure of 184/110 at home which is why I went to the er. I could not get them down. When I got to ssm er the triage got me back within minutes of signing in. My BP was down to 166/93 but was fluctuating up and down. Sat in waiting room for 3 hours for Dr. Chang to tell me my blood pressure of 184/110 was normal. And that taking my blood pressure only once a day would suffice. Well I couldn't let him know that 1. I was once certified level 1 med aid who knows how to take blood pressure and 2. I only took it twice 2.5 hours apart. He kept talking over me and would not let me voice my symptoms or concerns since my family history of strokes. This was the worst experience I have ever had. The only reason for the 2 stars is because the nurse and triage nurse were kind and trying to help.

I was born in old St. Mary's Hospital in 1954. I've always held the Hospital in high regards until it came to be more about the money than patient care.nI tried to go to the Urgent Care facility off Edgewood. About 1:30 I walked in to have someone check out a problem I was having. I was told that they only had 1 provider and they had reached their max and I was told to come back tomorrow. I live at the lake where there is now no Urgent care available or credible. So I'd like to see an explanination. MU and JCMG were still working. What's wrong with this picture????

SSM used to be the best hospital to go to because staff and doctors were compassionate and caring. My last visit to the ER was the worst I have ever felt to bring a one year old in. The doctor ( Dr. Chang )and nurse, make was so dismissive. With a crying baby, they just did a swap and sent me home with the discharge papers. Knowing the child has tested positive with COVID. I had take my child back to the ER and was transported to the MU ICU. SSM Health Jefferson City service and compassion is declining.

ICU staff are great people and provide excellentcare. General hospital will let patients discharge when they still need care. I would rather go to capital region. Cafeteria food was ok.
