I found my stay at Highland Hospitalufffcufffc to be quite unpleasant. I went to Highland Hospital after my assault. Unable to eat, I asked for protein with a straw, and being a vegan vegetarian, they gave me a plate of chicken that I couldnu2019t chew. It sounded like they were having some party in the waiting room, and nobody was helpful to me. They put me on a video chat, and then they tried to tell me that I needed to be on Ambien, which makes no sense at all. I didnu2019t do anything wrong. Are they siding with my assaulter? Why would they tell me I need medication?I was violently assaulted on the street. I am entirely innocent. One of the male nurses took me to a testing room, and when it was over, I was so confused walking through the holes. The people who work at the hospital were yelling at me and pulling in that direction. It was such a confusing, scary experience for me. I spent so long wondering and lost. Why is everyone so unhelpful and so aggressive? Can you please put up signs and make it easier for us? I'm happy youu2019ll be more helpful. It took me way too long to get out of there and was very unpleasant. I ended up in the area where everybody ate and looked at me like I was not supposed to be there. I was finally able to get out through a back gate. Someone finally helped me. I am not someone who would ever recommend this hospital, but itu2019s a hospital. I have to use it. Iu2019ve been assigned it. Letu2019s help make this a more peaceful world and a better, more compassionate place.

Wife got hit by a car on March 11th. Care in emergency was fine. 0 follow up no call have made many , many calls to try to set something as instructed but know one owns anything. Just such poor patient care after the fact. Shameless

We came to this hospital for a surgery consultation. Everyone there was kind, compassionate, and caring. The campus was beautiful, and the parking garage was convenient. Thank you highland hospital for making a hard day a little easier.

Review of Highland Hospital u2013 Inhumane Treatment During Illegal/False 5150 Holdon Thursday, Feb. 20th I had an extremely disturbing and traumatic experience at Highland Hospital that I feel compelled to share. I was taken from my home under a 5150 hold, against my will and it was not explained to me why. Which I firmly believe was done without proper justification or diagnosis. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with extreme disrespect, and the situation only worsened as time went on.Any time I asked a question or tried to express my concerns, I was repeatedly told that I was a 5150, which is not only dismissive but entirely inappropriate. Why would anyone address a patient this way? It felt as though they were labeling me and disregarding my autonomy and rights. I am a coherent individual and do not have any mental health disorders, yet I was made to feel as if I was being forced into a narrative that wasn't mine. It was clear that they were attempting to convince me otherwise to justify their actions. One of the most disturbing parts of my stay was how I was physically handled. I was manhandled roughly and forcibly injected with medication when there was absolutely no reason to sedate me. I was not a threat to myself or others, and I had not caused any scene. This unnecessary force and lack of consent were incredibly alarming, and it seemed like the only purpose was to sedate me and assert control, rather than actually help.Adding to my distress, the nurse on dutyu2014who was around my height and had long blonde hairu2014allowed another patient in the room to taunt me continuously. The nurse didnu2019t intervene and seemed to find it amusing, laughing along with the other patient. This was not only unprofessional but made me feel completely unsafe and disregarded in a vulnerable situation.Despite my efforts to ask questions and speak to a doctor, I was transferred to a mental institution without having had a proper diagnosis, and no doctor ever actually spoke with me. When I asked why I hadnu2019t been seen by a doctor, they repeatedly told me I had been spoken to, even though this was not true. It felt as though my rights and dignity were being completely ignored.I am writing this review because I believe Highland Hospital's treatment was outrageous, and their actions may have violated multiple California laws related to patient rights, including the following:California Welfare and Institutions Code 5150: This law states that a person can only be placed under a 5150 hold if there is evidence that they are a danger to themselves or others, or are gravely disabled. In my case, there was no such evidence, and my rights were violated by being forcibly detained without proper justification.California Civil Code Section 56.10: This law mandates the protection of patient privacy and rights. The way I was treated, including being forced into a situation without proper diagnosis and being coerced into accepting a false narrative, violated my rights as a patient.California Code of Regulations Title 22, Section 70215: This regulation sets clear standards for how patients should be treated in health care facilities, including ensuring their safety, dignity, and respect. My treatment was the opposite of these standards.I am deeply concerned that the lack of proper care and respect for my rights may be part of a larger issue. I have seen videos of how the system can retaliate against individuals who challenge the medical system, which makes me hesitant to even share this review. However, I feel it is important for others to know what happened to me in hopes that something might change, and that others will not have to go through the same thing.Highland Hospital needs to seriously review their practices, train their staff in patient care and respect, and make changes to ensure that individuals are treated with dignity, especially when they are vulnerable. The treatment I received was not just unacceptableu2014it was harmful.
