I do not recommend St. Lukeu2019s surgical department for procedures given recent experiences for a simple procedure. There were multiple points where communication and support fell short.nnDuring the consultation, the surgeonu2019s PA seemed to take questions and need for clarification as disrespectful or challenging. He was dismissive and questioned the accuracy of reported symptoms.nnThe office staff complained to about the number of doctors involved in case. She insisted questions be asked to her instead of the surgeon or PA. When she was unable to provide answers, she rudely muttered about the patient to other staff as she hung up the phonennThe pre-op appointment consisted of questions and instructions delivered over the phone. Before the procedure, the surgeon assured the patient could have an advocate during prep and recovery. This support was denied on the day of the procedure, despite the advocate on speaker phone being present during the phone call when this false reassurance was given.nnThere was inadequate time to recover before findings were shared, and the next patient was seen, making the surgeonu2019s interaction terse, if not abrupt. While in recovery, still under the effects of the sedative, the surgeon curtly relayed the findings from the procedure. He further stated patient would HAVE to take whatever he prescribed.nnA post-op follow-up was scheduled four weeks after the procedure with the surgical PA. By then patients have access to information on the patient portal. The surgical PA does post op follow ups so be prepared for that interaction.nnItu2019s vital for patients to feel like their concerns are taken seriously. To be promised the patient bring an advocate and then denied support on the day of the procedure is unacceptable. Regardless of the simplicity of the procedure, having the right support when a patient goes through something important.nnPatients deserve to have their questions answered and to feel comfortable discussing their care. They should not feel that the surgeon has no time or concern for them because he has scheduled too many procedures in a day.nnThe only positive aspect of the procedure were the nurses. They were kind, caring, and competent. If not for them, the patient would not have gone through with the procedure, especially without an advocate present.

This hospital did a seriously poor job of caring for my mom. She was discharged too early and without nausea meds. They had very poor communication skills ( especially the ER doctor) and basically lead to the worst experience i had ever heard of by a hospital. Iu2019m shocked and dismayed. My mom had to stay a a hotel because she was so ill she could not even walk across the room. She had to call her regular doctor in a different state to prescribe Zofran for nausea because the ER doctor refused. Unbelievably bad care. Glad we donu2019t live here because this hospital experience would concern me. Also I called and left a message for the hospital administrator to call to discuss this and received no response.

As care support for a family member, I recently spent a couple of days at St. Luke's. When my family member was admitted, they provided careful oversight of his health situation, and excellent care. I truly appreciated the doctors, nurses and CNA's. They were polite, attentive, patient and thorough. They offered support to me as well, without ever being asked, bring me a cot and blankets so I could spend the night and made me quite welcomed and comfortable. Along with that, they fed me amazing meals--the quality was absolutely excellent. I can't say enough good things about the facility--it is clean, modern, roomy and comfortable. At a difficult point in time for our family, St. Luke's was an excellent choice for healthcare.

Excellent service. The providers, nurses and CNAs are so kind and caring! The imaging department went above and beyond and helped me get my mammogram covered with a grant! Lab draws are quick and painless! Thank you all!
