The ED department was wonderful after my husband, son and myself were involved in a deadly head on collision. My husband and I were admitted due to our injuries sustained. For the most part the nursing staff was good. I feel like the department we stayed in had communication issues but doesnu2019t every work place. I do wish that when the thought of discharge was brought up that everything clears before being said just to keep family friom waiting around for discharge orders.

Everything was okay until the end. At the beginning, I told them they hadn't given me my coumadin and they said my INR was high. I pointed out to them that they couldn't go by it saying it was high because the level wh e n youre on coumadin is different. I ended up with an INR of 1.4, which is very low when you're on coumadin. My range is supposed to be between 2.5 and 3.5. Then everything was good for the rest of my stay. I got along with all of the doctors and nurses. My last day, I was told by the hospitalist that I would be discharged by 1. 1 came and went, so I went up front to see what was going on abd the charge nurse and nurse practitioners for the main doctor I was dealing with said I had to stay for a consultation with the surgeon, which was in surgery. I was not informed of any of this. So, I decided to stay. 4 came and I just couldn't sit around anymore, so I told the charge nurse just to discharge me. After 5, I was up to the nurses' desk. I didn't even say anything. J was just going to ask what time frame we were looking at, but I didn't even have a chance. A nurse threw a stack of papers and told me to chill out. I just walked off. Her and another nurse came in my room. I had to remove my own heart telemetry device. I told her that she needed to not get smart with people and tell them to chill out if she wanted to get good responses and she shouted and said, well, you've come up there several times. It is annoying. I said that I had i had come up there twice previously in 4 hours and she said no, it had been several times. Then the other nurse chimed in and said the same thing. When I tried to say the times specifically and prove them wrong, they just cut me off and wouldn't listen. I then told them I needed a listen of the coumadin that had been given when I was there do that i could give it to the coumadin clinic. I had already told doctors this and they agreed and knew. The nurses seemed disgusted and printed off all the medicines I had been given, threw them at me, and told me I would have to show them this.

Nurses are kind and generous people who have the care of their patients in mind sometimes details about my care were vague such as what I was supposed do afterwards at home. Not knowing what to eat what I was told was take it easy and donu2019t overdo it,no recommendations on diet only bland foods no specifics on how to take meds except follow bottle recommendations now I consider myself an intelligent person sometimes not very smart and often jumping to conclusions, over all a good experience aside from why I was there this a suggestion of what I would have liked to see when I was discharged maybe I had missed something I still was in a great deal of pain when I left , thanks everyone for the care I received! One major thing that almost forgot about was the meals probably the worst food I ever had I tried couldnu2019t eat much of anything so I didnu2019t get the proper nutrition for a better recovery changes are needed !

I have no complaints at all , I went in for surgery and was expecting to be there only a couple days and instead I was there for almost a week. The nursing staff were wonderful as well as the people that were there just to look out for your every need. I was see by my surgeon a few times and physical therapy daily and the all went above and beyond. I would like to thank everyone involved in my care.
