This business is run terribly!! I was over-billed for medical equipment when I broke my ankle. It had been paid by my insurance and they were billing me again. This when on for over a year and I even had a 3-way call with them and my insurance. Now they are sending final notices to my son after he paid them for his foot boot.nVery poorly run business and unethical.

I received crutches and an ankle brace from urgent care and received a surprise bill (that I was not informed I would receive) and was overcharged for a brace I could have ordered from anywhere for more than half the price. With such price gouging I feel taken advantage of. Unethical business.

I went to Duke City Urgent care and got a brace for my hand through simplistic medical (which I did not know about). I called them twice to give them my insurance information so they could bill them. The first time they refused to bill the VA. The second time, they made me call the VA and get the billing address. I did that and gave them the information but suddenly, months later, I got a bill from collections from Simplistic Medical. They'd rather try to charge me 235 dollars for a hand brace (an insane amount already), then try to bill my insurance because the VA is inconvenient for them. I never got a follow up call or letter, even though the lady on the phone assured me they would send the bill to the VA. l just ended up with the surprise collections bill.nnEdited: I called them today and discovered that the VA denied the bill because it wasn't billed in a timely manner. This is due to the miscommunication that occurred the first time I called when I was told the VA couldn't be billed (not that they needed a billing address). I did not remember to call back again for quite a while and by that time the bill came too late and the VA wouldn't cover it. However, I did want to say that the woman I talked to today was very helpful, and while I'm still upset that I have to cover this bill, I appreciated her help and patience. While I think this whole thing could have been avoided with better communication on my part and on the part of the lady I spoke to the first time, I understand that they are a small business and may have limited resources (which is why I didn't receive a follow up call to tell me the status after they billed the VA). Just always be aware of what your signing and be sure to follow up.

I canu2019t give no star, so consider yourself lucky Simplistic Medical. No stars thatu2019s what Simplistic Medical has earned. I got an Innovator X elbow brace, they billed my insurance 500$ for a 99$ brace. Then simplistic medical had the audacity to bill me for 100$. My insurance paid 400$, I pay 100$ and Simplistic Medical simply commits insurance fraud.

I received 2 Hely & Weber Santa Barbara Thumb Splints from my doctor at Sandoval UNM. They did not help me and I never used them. I was billed $152.82 for these splints and I called the office and told them that I was more than happy to go to their office to return the splints for a refund because I had never used them, they are in their original packaging and I am not about to pay $152.82 for something that I can not even use. I was told that I could not get a refund, that I could only make an appointment to go to their office for an exchange of some sort. Everything on their website requires a doctor's perscription, except for some retail athletic supports that, again, I have NO use for. I see my doctor again soon, I guess that I will take these braces to that doctor appointment and take this up with UNM. Watch these people, they are CROOKS!
