I wish I could give zero stars, but you're forced to enter something. I have been a patient of SMG for over a decade; the past few years have been abysmal. It seems they have grown too big and cant keep up with the number of doctors and patients they currently have. Appointments are hard to get, going to a PCP means seeing a PA or NP. Dont even think about making an appointment for a specialist, you're looking at 6 months minimum. I have recently had the misfortune of needing to call them about Portal issues; I have been calling for over three weeks, each time the wait is anywhere between 35mins to 75 mins. I have now spent HOURS of my life that I will never get back, trying to resolve this issue to no avail. I have gotten the I took care of this, It will take 24hours to show up on the portal conversation everytime. Well here we are weeks later and nothing has happened. My conversation today was the final straw; well they are behind and you will just have to wait a bit longer... So why have they been saying 24 hours?For what its worth; I think it is time to find another group. The things that I most appreciated about SMG are no longer; timely appointments, quick access to records, helpful staff, and my PCP of 30 years (who I followed here when he moved from private practice). None of these are are true anymore. I have several issues with billing as well but thats for another post. While I understand that this is a business and it is run as such, I would not typically frequent a business that did not treat me like a valued customer, that lied to me or that did not provide me waht I paid for. These past few weeks of lies may be the final straw for my realtionship with SMG.

I have 3 Doctors 2 of which Iu2019ve had for years unfortunately since becoming summit health Iu2019ve had nothing but grief today it took 95 minutes to get a person to accept a payment because of a glitch with the portal ( that has had a glitch for almost a year!!!! Unfortunately for me I now am looking for new Doctors to replace trusted Drs Iu2019ve been using for many years. So if your looking for a new doctor and theyu2019re part of summit health and their associates keep looking!!!!

Do not go to any summit health! Their billing is often done wrong and is an absolute nightmare to try and rectify. They tell you they will call you back, they donu2019t, and itu2019s always u201cin upper managementu201d.

I had the worst experience wit SMG. The admin staff is rude and very unprofessional. Dr Filipe-Izaguirre put a bill code for physical when I did not make appointment for physical nor she even had the decency to tell me that she was doing physical. What doc doesnu2019t inform the patient about the visit? now I suppose to pay $243 for something that I didnu2019t make appointment for. I called the billing as well as the patient relations. I was hung up by Brie from patient relations and told that she spend 10 minutes with me. I have never had such an experience at the doctor office to be treated with total disrespect and disregard. Patient has the right to know what the doctor is doing and for what purpose but it appears that this is not the case at SMG. I had no idea that I had a physical until I got the bill , I never made an appointment for physical or signed a written consent.

Summit's medical staff is terrific as is their medical computer system which allows for total integration of care. However the bookkeeping department in Maine is a disaster. It takes forever for them to apply payments which often seem to get lost and it is impossible to reach them by phone to address mistakes. In spite of their incompetence they do not hesitate threatening to turn your account over to a collection agency for invoices they erroneously report as unpaid.
