The staff was excelent & very patient orientated. Even my wife, a retied RN that has hated every hospital she has saught care in for the last 30 years, [around 15 of them] was exceptionally impresed with the level of care she recieved twice now in the last 4 months at BS&W spine & joint Tyler Tx.

I have had Dr Calodney as my Dr since 1997 and like good wine improves over time staff were caring and professional.i had pain pump replaced .it gets done every seven years or so. Medtronic morphine pump gave me my life back in 97 I broke back in two places for years I took oral meds methadone lorcet ECT to point started causing series of small strokes.i got depressed more and more quite frankly no joy only pain self pity and misery. Dr C when I was finally honest and told him how I felt and lack of any joy at all suggested morphine pump now I was terrified of becoming a junky which was part of my problem waited until I was in so much pain I was a zombie before getting relief. He explained low dose and no danger of being hooked. We did test and placed the first one in.now incision site hurt but he go mte out of pain till it stopped being an issue. Then true joy set in I even gardened, raised chickens and even took care of my dogs and a goat. I play with my great grands. This was by far best decisions I everafe.nToday I got it replaced they took such wonderful care ofe. Stayed overnight got these cool compression thingies that you plug in it then gives lower legs massage gently to keep blood clots from forming which is a problem because of surgery I had to stop my blood thinner I still take to prevent strokes .I am incontant with urine they didn't mind coming helping me up to use potty.the staff was wonderful I have never felt so well cared for.they made sure I had hand sanitizer and the supper pure Heaven as you can see below.i will never be scared to do this again. Thank you Dr Calodney. The Medtronic lady was awesome gave me a device that will givee small increase if I need it I was dreading winter with pain it brings but hoping for snow so I can play with my greats. But most of all thank you Lindsey B and Diana you made me feel better about asking for things you never minded coming getting me to bathroom giving me drinks extra snacks and didn't not make me feel stupid when I did not get urge and peed in bed.i wish was in my power to give you raise you really deserve it. Thank you and God Bless you.nJust look at supper I got tonight below

Editing my original review after going through post op today and discussing this with my wife...nnI have had many procedures here over the years. My most recent was yesterday. In the past this facility was five stars to me.nnI dropped this review multiple stars because the care over the years has changed. During this recent procedure the nurse who called prior, and the paperwork they give you, says you would be in the recovery room for at least four hours. I was there for one hour and they sent me home. The pain(I have a back injury in the area that I had this procedure in) is super severe. I am glad that I already own a walker because I can hardly take a step on my own. However there was nothing given for pain after and they didn't say even to take ibuprofen or similar. The only number in the paperwork to call is billing (nothing for post procedure questions) There has been no follow-up call today from staff to check-in like I have always had previously. .nnThe nurse in pre-op didn't even know who the guy was (was a PA not a doctor) that was doing the procedure so that was not comforting.nnThe seating and beds are extremely uncomfortable. I think they have had the chairs in the waiting areas for years and they are too painful to sit in if you have any sort of back issues. The hospital beds always feel like I'm laying on a rock and they are too short. My feet always hang off and with one of my issues being related to my feet it causes pain. I usually can't wait to get out of there due to the comfort level of these items. Hopefully they'll update some of this in the near future.nnSo overall I do not think I want to have another procedure here for a while. I will let the doctor that referred me here know about my experience and maybe he can send patients somewhere else for similar procedures.nnNo patient should have to be this uncomfortable before, during, and post procedure.nnAll of the staff was really nice but that's about all that I can say positive about this recent experience.
