We will never bring our child here again. Our child got sick Friday night and started running fever. Since it was the start of the weekend and we didnu2019t want her to get worse before we could take her to see her PCP on Monday, we decided to take her into the urgent care clinic Saturday morning. By Saturday morning she was running a fever of 102+ so we gave her Tylenol. When we arrived at the clinic, the PA asked us if we checked her temperature using a forehead thermometer or an oral thermometer. We said a forehead thermometer. She then condescendingly proceeded to lecture us about taking temperatures u201ccorrectlyu201d and said we needed to be using an oral thermometer from now on. She said our child wasnu2019t running fever, and we explained we had given her Tylenol that morning when her fever reached 102 (of course this was ignored). When the nurse came in to check our childu2019s temperature, they proceeded to use a forehead thermometer. So much for checking it u201ccorrectlyu201d. (Rolling my eyes). The PA then proceeded to run ZERO tests on our child and diagnosed her with u201callergiesu201d. Not a Covid, flu, strep test, anything. Our child had been running a 102+ fever, had congestion, was tired/achy, had a headache. The PA even admitted that our child had a red irritated throat. Not one swab or test was done. The PA told us to give her allergy meds and Flonase and sent us on our way.nnOn the way home we picked up an oral thermometer and when we got home our childu2019s temperature was actually closer to 103 now. We tried as best we could to keep her fever down but it kept getting up to 103.5-103.9 with ibuprofen and baths. On Sunday morning we called the urgent care clinic back and explained our childu2019s fever was increasing to 103+ and we were concerned. We were again told it was just allergies and there was nothing they could do.nnAnother night of 103.8-103.9 fever. Today we took her to see her PCP. She ran swabs and tests and our child tested positive for Flu B. The doctors office was shocked that no one bothered to run any tests on our daughter and diagnosed it as u201callergiesu201d. Our doctor has prescribed tamiflu but it should have been started on Saturday when we first took her in, not days later after symptoms started. Had we followed the urgent care center advice, our daughter would have gone undiagnosed and could have gotten way worse. Flu can be dangerous, especially with the high temperatures our daughter was having. Cannot believe the incompetence of this clinic and how we reached out for help twice and were brushed off. Avoid this clinic at all costs. If we had not been proactive and reached out to our own doctor, she could have gotten much worse. They clearly have incompetent staff and are more concerned about how you take your childu2019s temperature verses getting a correct diagnosis.

As a health care professional I can say this is the kind of place that gives us all a bad name. My wife was sent here by our pediatrician after our infant daughter developed a runny nose and he was unable to see her in a timely manner. After they ran tests that came back negative for COVID, RSV, and the flu Dr. Ijeoma Oguagha determined further testing was needed for her runny nose. She assured us that this routine battery of tests could only be performed at a Cook Children's emergency room. When we arrived at the ER we were told the recommended test was extremely rare, would have no impact on how she was treated, and was not even covered by insurance. They wondered aloud why we had even been sent to the ER for something so minor. The answer was that Dr. Oguagha told us a normal infant respiratory rate was 36 breaths per minute and our daughters rate of 48 constituted an emergency. The real docs at the ER told us 56 and below is completely normal. In case you are wondering it costs $906 after insurance to sit in a Cook's waiting room for three hours and receive no testing or treatment. The staff at this urgent care is either completely incompetent or is only focused on making sure we pay Cooks as many times as possible, possibly both.

This is NOT an urgent care center. My son who had a possible broken ankle and in severe pain was turned away because he didn't have an appointment! The facility was empty and no other patients were in the waiting area. Not so urgent care. Very angry and disappointed.

I had a disappointing experience at this location. The service was extremely slow, and making an online reservation seemed pointless, as I was still taken in an hour later than scheduled. After waiting an hour in the waiting area, I had to wait another hour for a doctor to finally come in. This defeats the purpose of reserving a time in advance. If your child is in need of urgent medical care, I would recommend seeking help elsewhere, as this location may not be equipped to provide prompt service.

Every single person we encountered, from checkin to leaving the facility were all really helpful, friendly, and all-around amazing to deal with. We showed up close to closing time and we were still greeted with a smile and a true u201cwant to helpu201d attitude from everyone! My daughter was always made to feel very comfortable and actually we all enjoyed lots of laughs even though she was in pain. They were so great about keeping the situation positive! We were so grateful to have been able to get her broken hand examined, confirmed, braced and good care instructions in under an hour. And there was not one single person that we encountered that was not smiling or helpful. Amazing experience!
