I started in the emergency room and from all the reviews I was very worried, but I didnu2019t need to be worried. Everyone took wonderful care of me. The nursing staff was phenomenal from the emergency room on upu2026 I had to stay so I was brought up to a room didnu2019t have to wait long. I was on 2 Brush, The nurses were phenomenal. The aids were phenomenal. The people who came into clean the room were phenomenal. I donu2019t know what happened that this has gotten such a low rating, but everyone here has been great to me. All of the people have made my stay here very pleasant.

My mother is a patient at Harper Hospital, she is 82 years old, and she had an appointment yesterday, April 14,2025 at 1 PM with pre-admission testing. She is having her hip replaced on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Upon arrival to pre-admission testing at Detroit Harper Hospital, (mind you she is wheelchair bound and can barely walk without assistance.) The patient care technician assigned to my mother named of Amelda. Was extremely rude, lazy, and confrontational. She stated that If I wasnu2019t present with my mother she would make her walk instead of pushing the wheelchair. She refused to push the wheelchairnAnd was arguing back and forth with me. No compassion, empathy or sympathy.. This is how Harper treats their elderly patients. I informed her supervisor of the situation and Amelda was still going back and forth with me and her supervisor did nothing but hold her hand out for me to stop talking instead or her employee. Her Supervisor stated she would talk to her but I want an apology for me and my mom! Supervisor name was Cheryl/sheryl Staton.nEnclosed is what they have up for their customer service standardsu2026

A tech working in the emergency room who was clearly leaving at the end of her shift antagonized a patient, causing him to curse her out and yell, that lead to him being escorted out, without being treated. Health facilities are to be taken seriously by staff when caring for patients regardless of the patientu2019s situation. The doctor on duty that night was great, as well as the nurse that took care of my family member. There were other staff members sitting on their cell phones and patients yelling for staff. The housekeeper went and got a staff member, but there were staff near that heard the patient and did nothing.

I always loved the DMC hospitals for one they have always treated me with kindness and respect very knowledgeable medical teammates my sister and I took our mother out of St John to the DMC because St John had just gave up on her but the DMC kept trying until the end not just saying there is nothing we can do and we Thank them for that now my husband came for Receiving ER excellent care now is in Harper ICU and love staff getting top rated care. Still love DMC but the step down unit from ICU was ok nurse weren't knowledgeable some had an i don't care attitude discharge experience at Harper was not so good my husband's doctor was not a good listener to her patient I understand insurance issues sometimes can rush a pt home but if the pt is telling you they are not ready please listen, got home he was almost as bad as when he came through ER will probably be returning due to discharge to soon. Please take time to really listen it's very important.

I am giving one star bc of my terrible experience with the nurse, Wang or whatever her name was. I went in for a MRI with & without contrast, and she was in charge of starting my IV, but she was being so rude to me throughout the whole process. I was already nervous as this was my first experience as a pt with a MRI and IV, but she was not supportive at all, no bedside manner whatsoever. I have very small veins and Iu2019m a certified Phlebotomist, I have an idea of where my good vein is located and tried to help her, but she told me she doesnu2019t feel anything and will poke me randomly if I tell her where I think the vein is. I also asked her to use a smaller needle and the rad tech took one out for her, but she still insisted on using a big 22 gage on my hand where the veins are already small. I felt an immense pain from her work and started tearing up; I did not even get to have a MRI with contrast bc it needed to be taken out. Now my hand is left with a hematoma and bruise. ud83eudd72 her behavior was rude and dismissive as well. I work in healthcare too and that is not how we treat our patients.nnPlease hire better nurses who are not mediocre at performing phlebotomyu2026nnHowever, the radiology technicians were nice
